We only mention this so you don't find yourself surprised upon arrival. Our neighbourhood is home to some of the best food and clubs Frankfurt has to offer. In fact, the New York Times even wrote an article on our upcoming neighbourhood in 2016! However, if you don't feel comfortable staying in this area, feel free to book somewhere else.

If this isn't a problem, you'll discover many upsides to our location:
- 3 min walk from the train station
- 10 min walk to the museums/river bank
- 15 min walk to the city centre, old city, and main shopping area
And - we promise - you'll find the best international food in our neighbourhood!

Look out for our LAST MINUTE SPECIALS (each bed 19,- Euro one day before arrival), and our seasonal specials.

Upon first arriving, the location can be a tad intimidating. However, it is within walking distance to everything. The facilities are amazingly clean, and the common room/bar area is chill during the day but picks up at night. Overall, it was great.

I had a great stay at this hostel! The free breakfast is decent, not great but it’s free so I wasn’t expecting much. It goes till 12 which was great because I was exhausted from my flight and got to sleep in and not worry about missing it or having to get up super early, although they do start to run out of stuff towards the end. You need to get buzzed into the part where the rooms are, but they just buzz everyone. Also, I got locked out of my room twice in one day but they fixed it quickly

I enjoyed this hostel. There is a good atmosphere in the common areas, the staff is super nice, everything was clean, and there's some sort of event every night. The only downsides are there's only 1-2 bathrooms on each floor for each gender and there are lots of interesting people that roam the streets outside due to the location but they don't mess with you really and it doesn't seem or feelunsafe at all. All in all I would stay here again :) and recommend it if you're open to a colorful area.

    Fabulous

    21 Feb 2020
Overall, a great hostel. The neighbourhood is definitely dodgy, but it never caused a problem for me (6’+ male). One night there was a woman using the doorway of the hostel to smoke c***k with two men. Not the Hostel’s fault, but I imagine this would freak most people out. The hostel itself was clean, the staff was friendly, the food, drinks, and other guests were great. I’d stay there again. My room key got demagnetised 6 times in 3 days which was annoying, but a quick fix at the front desk.

The best part about this hostel was the MASSIVE pillow you get for the bed! Probably the most comfortable bed I've ever had in a hostel. It is technically right off the street from a red light district but I didn't feel unsafe.

    Very Good

    16 Feb 2020
Pretty great hostel overall. Great staff. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Pretty good common area near the bar, where you can meet fellow travelers. Only complaint I have is the location. Whole block is surrounded by people using drugs. As soon as I walked out a lady was right at the door getting high. Other than that great experience.

    Good

On the reception desk I asked about towel and I was told that I'll find it on my bed, but I didn't. When I went up to my room I found it pretty uncomfy with lights turned on,a man sleeping and window opened very wide I had to make my bed myself, bed linen was fine and clean except a bedsheet that looked like someone striped it off their bed and put it on my bed...It looked used. So I had to cover matress with blanket case and leave blanket without any case. That's why I slept dressed.

Five Elements Hostel Frankfurt says

I'd say our most unique feature is that our staff love the hostel and our guests so much that they end up spending lots of their free time at the hostel! There's always someone you can talk to here. Really, our staff have been called the most friendly staff in Germany. There's free activities every night, plus billiards, a bar and a backyard.
We're quite close to the main station. We've quite close to the Main River, the museums, the botanical gardens and shopping malls. The one local place that I'd definitely recommend is the Äppelwoi pub quarter in Sachsenhausen. It's full of small unique stores, bars and restaurants. We like it so much that we offer a free pub crawl through Sachsenhausen once a week.
No matter if you come to explore the city and the beautiful area around Frankfurt, or just stop over flying in or out via Germany's biggest airport, we are happy to be your home away from home. Sarah, Manager
