The ensuite double private room was very nice and clean at a reasonable price. Staff were also friendly and helpful. The common area had a really energetic vibe as well!

Generally I enjoyed my stay at the fifth floor of Flinders Backpackers Hostel. It have been a bit noisy from the outside at night time, trams and traffic, but still acceptable to me. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I definitely will recommend this hostel to everyone.

Lovely hostel with large, spacious rooms and clean facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there's a lively atmosphere in all communal areas. The people in my room were very respectful of other guests, and it was always quiet in my room and the lights were turned off in the evening for anyone sleeping. The free dinner on Wednesday's and free pancakes in the morning were a life saviour! You can also get free tea, coffee, pasta and rice throughout the day! No faults, would stay again.

Easily the largest hostel I have ever stayed in. Very bustling common area - a little overwhelming at times. Standard rooms and nice bathrooms. Biggest con: extremely slow elevators. Biggest pro: location was perfect and very very cute rooftop patio/cafe. Overall, a bit tricky to make friends because of the size, but definitely recommend.

Flinders is a big hostel in a large city. Exactly the kind of hostel I usually avoid as they are often crowded. Flinders surprised me. I stayed in an 18 bed dorm and it was very well organized and was big enough for everyone stuff. They had large lockers, and lots of windows so good airflow. The kitchen looked a bit crowded but that’s as expected at a large hostel. Overall a good value for a short stay.

The hostel was fine and the crew was nice however I felt like it was kind of an industry. Many people can stay at once. The cafeteria was very crowdy and noisy. Don't get me wrong, the space dedicated to eat is fine and those long tables enable you to meet many great people. You can even isolate yourself on the other side of the room if you want something a bit more quiete but you can feel lost at times in the middle of so many people. Also, the wifi didn't work for me for the 2 days I was there

    Very Good

Overall a good stay. Staff weren’t the friendliest at reception, except Giles! He was very friendly. Bathrooms weren’t always the cleanest. Great location for exploring downtown Melbourne, close to the train station so super easy to get around. Cute coffee shop below the building with a discount if you stay here :) Bed was comfortable and room was spacious. No A/C in rooms.
