Property Description

The Galapagos Best Hostel is a warm friendly Hotel / Hostel that welcomes people from all over the world. We have a wealth of information about the Galapagos. As the proprietor I have lived in the Galapagos all my life since I was 10 years old. I have many connections who can help you to make your trip more successful and desirable to suit your budget.

Take the time to talk to me when you check in. I will have prepared maps for you and give you a good idea of your itinerary while you are here, one that will suit your budget. I know the ferry schedules, I know the best travel agencies, and I know what islands would be best for you to visit.

Please note what is important to me is that you enjoy your time here and the accommodations meet your standards. I am also raising two children so at times it is challenging for me to do both at the same time. I can't thank you enough for your patience.

What I find most rewarding is when my guests come back for the night and tell me what a great day they had exploring The Galapagos. They tell me about all of the places and animals that they saw and how special it is that the animals are not afraid of them. Then they go on to say 'Thank You for telling us what we can do here, it was so helpful'. They then go in to town with the new friends that they met here at the Hostel. This is very heart warming for me. Because I do care about my guests and it is important to me that they have a good time here.

I feel that the mission of the hostel has been accomplished. It has never been about the money, but to provide a nice clean comfortable place to stay while you are here to explore The Galapagos Islands. View House Rules

This was a great place with a great staff. We arrived earlier than check-in and they were able to accommodate us easily. Breakfast was wonderful. Everyone was helpful and kind.

This hostel has everything you need for your stay. It’s a 20-30 min walk to town or taxi is only $1.50. The breakfast is good and they have a kitten that’s very friendly.

    Very Good

A little far from the center of things. We were given a “dorm” type room - 3 beds - that was not very clean. It had an abandoned fridge in it that wasn’t plugged in and full of mild. We had one window which opened to the laundry area and no screen. We were awakened in the night with their cat joining us in bed not once but twice. Normally not a problem, but I’m allergic to them. Breakfast was good and the staff was pleasant and helpful.

The cheapest place we could find in Galapagos which was great value considering it included breakfast, however we only stayed for one night as it was a 20 minute walk outside of the main area in Puerto Ayora and the door didn’t lock properly on our room. The staff weren’t that friendly or helpful either when we were enquiring about potential last minute cruises.

Overall okay, you get what you pay for - Galapgos is a pricy. Maybe it was only the four bed dorm in the ground floor, which was quite horrible... My bed was inside the kitchen. However didnt feel really welcome.

You get what you pay for, which is not a lot. Bugs in rooms, staff not the friendliest, water doesn’t work at times, power out constantly, room didn’t lock. If you go to the Galapagos do yourself a favor and just pay for a hotel since you’re paying so much to get there anyways.
