A really clean hostel ideally located for a great price. The room, kitchen and TV room were comfortable and pleasant, the tv room had a really good range of DVDs. The staff were really friendly and helpful, always had the best recommendations for food and drink. Towels were able to rent for only 1 Euro. Would recommend to friends or anyone looking to stay in Dublin. :)

A very modern and clean environment with plenty of people coming and going. The complimentary breakfast was superb with a selection of toast and spreads, cereal, fruit and juice. Plenty of bathrooms and showers for everyone. Kitchen could however get crowded at times, and don’t forget you earplugs if sleeping in the 16 or 18 bed dorms! From the hostel it was a fast 20 minute walk into Temple Bar and the city centre.

    Fabulous

I was a solo traveler and one of the receptionist at the front desk was the most helpful and nicest person you could meet! I can't believe I didn't get her name but she was the best employee there! She even knew me by name everytime she greeted me. She helped me when it came to recommendations, reserving tickets, printing out my boarding pass, and also informed me when she found another solo traveler going on the same tour so I wouldn't have to walk to the meeting point alone. She was amazing!

Nice place with high ceilings and a big window in the room so it’s bright. Since it’s a really old building (though modern inside) it was very warm - definitely needs AC in the summer. The mattress was uncomfortable and had a really rough cover on it (that wasn’t super clean) so I ended up sleeping on top of my duvet. The noise from the courtyard went all night which was awful despite the 11:00pm quiet time. The receptionist was really nice and very on the ball which was great.

Location decent - around 15/20 mins out of city centre and from main shopping area. Security amazing (bells to enter and exit as well as key cards). Staff super helpful - were also able to print our boarding passes for us for free and help us with an airport bus! Easy check out. Clean hostel with great kitchen and free breakfast! Good value for money. Biggest downside was the atmosphere - most people older, kept to themselves or in groups. Bedrooms spacious however very uncomfortable beds!!!

Gardiner House was great! It was my first time in Dublin and having a nice hostel was definitely something I wanted. The facilities were great and the staff were really friendly. My experience was incredible, and I will definitely be coming back if I visit Dublin again!

Solo female traveler - the neighborhood could have felt safer - someone followed me back one afternoon - but the hostel itself was clean and the staff were friendly! Occasionally hard boiled eggs were offered with breakfast, instead of just cereal. Always a perk to get a little protein! And the shower to guest ratio seemed off, but I only ever had to wait a few minutes, probably because jet lag woke me up early. Quiet location though, so good for sleeping!

    Good

I stayed in the Chapel 19 for 3 nights and it was horrendous. There is no air circulation and I don't know how this is legal. There are too many people sleeping in that room and the top bunks are stifling. I understand that it is a heritage building but there is no air especially on top bunks. The last night I stayed in a 6 bed room where there was an electric air circulator thingy which made all the difference.
