My stay at Gardiner House was lovely. Friendly and open-minded atmosphere and staff, very nice and inventive interior. I liked the colourful paintings and other details which make the interior cosy. I would definitely recommend this hostel :)

Overall a decent experience. Pretty clean, nice large kitchen, nice patio to sit on. Not a super social vibe although I did make some friends. It took 45 minutes to get my key after checking in even though it was past check in time which was frustrating, they said my room wasn’t ready. Location was decent although a 30 minute walk from all the clubs/ tourist attractions. One thing to note is that there seemed to be a lot of older men staying there. No one bothered me, but as a young female solo travelling

    Very Good

Generally a good stay however it was a bit shabby, half of the showers didn’t work properly and fire alarm was going off through the night. On first impressions, the area felt a ropey and if I was woman I’d be unsure if I’d walk around alone there. But I had no problems.

    Very Good

If I could give this hostel a lower rating, I would. They essentially double-charged my group for our beds as after 4 days we have still not received the refund of the €30/pp “deposit” we paid by card, even though we had already paid for the beds (also about €30 each) in full. While on the day the staff seemed accommodating, and we understood that they were dealing with a new system, we were assured reimbursement multiple times and have yet to see the results. Unacceptable. Will not stay again.

The price-performance ratio was not balanced. We paid much for a small room. The windows, which faced a very busy street, could not be closed and we slept badly because of that.

Not too bad but it's a long walk from city centre, facilities not great but they did change me to a lower instead of higher bunk upon my request.
