Property Description

Located in a historic 1880's building in the center of the downtown Gaslamp Quarter, our hostel makes a statement with its double staircase and sunny, open atrium with a Victorian style that's a nod to the Wild West days. We'll tell you all about our building's infamous past as well as the ghost stories! It's just a step outside our door to the festive atmosphere of outdoor dining. And, every Thursday through Sunday the entire block becomes a walking avenue as well.

With our great weather year-round, San Diego is a great escape any time of year. We are minutes away from a great stroll to the waterfront or a ferry to Coronado Island's expansive white beach. The Padres stadium is a 10 minute walk and many other attractions are very nearby including the San Diego Zoo, Seaport Village, Midway Naval Museum and SeaWorld. Explore nearby neighborhoods and hiking trails or take tour of our myriad of microbreweries! We're also a short drive or bus ride from other beaches. You can rent scooters and bikes at a nearby stand and get out and explore the city!

While the building may be Victorian, our amenities are all modern including:
-Privacy panels on all dorm beds that include a light, shelf and outlets to charge your electronics!

I loved the place! I stay there in a mix-room for two nights! the perfect choice to spend a weekend in San Diego in the heart of the city, the staff is amazing, the place is clean! I had a great time. The uniquie thing is ASK BEFORE for parking tickets, they have limited available permits for 20 usd night. Otherwise is really hard to find a free spot and per less than 50 USD pernight.

I stayed in the woman's dorm. As a trans woman I was nervous about that but the staff were great and I felt really comfortable here. This place is clean, cheap, has free drinks, and even a ghost tour as part of the activities it hosts throughout the week. I will definitely stay again. Thanks Gaslamp hostel ppls :)

This was so pretty hostel! I enjoyed this stay so much. Especially the inside was so pretty. If you request, you can borrow towels for free. There was hair dryer. They were so helpful.

Sleeping in the rooms facing the street is basically impossible. They should have AC units in those rooms specifically so the windows can shut and maybe some sleep can be had. Those rooms should be like half the cost due to how noisy it is alone.

I wouldn't recommend the Gaslamp district if you have a car, it's impossible (literally) to find parking. The hostel is not laid out in a way that is conducive to meeting people — the commons room is off in a corner and is quite small. The rooms are painted a gloomy maroon and have no AC. Few outlets in the rooms. Some odd folks staying here, too. The staff were not very helpful when I came to them with a couple issues. I think this place has potential, but needs some work to get better.
