Much, much more than just some beds in a building, Generator Berlin Mitte is a lively hostel that gives guests an experience to remember. Contemporary and snazzy, its design fits perfectly with the city it sits in. Do visit Kupfer Bar at Generator Berlin Mitte. It is more than just a hostel bar and fuses Berlin style with fresh seasonal cocktails, craft beers from around the world. There's plenty of action after dark too, like club nights and live music. Remember, there plenty to explore outside its four walls too and given its central location, that's not hard to do from Generator.

Room was ready and clean. Breakfast was purchased and was very delicious. Had a quad room with en-suite with large lockers. Very quite for being so downtown. Only negative was the room was infested with mosquitoes.

15 min walk to the city centre, bus stop right in front and 5-7 min walk to the subway; spacious lockers to rent if you arrive/leave before/after check in/out; the rooms also have lockers to store your stuff; each bed has it's own plug right next to it; the windows can be opened so the rooms are fresh; friendly and helpful staff; wheel chair accessible, special bathroom (toilet and shower) for wheel chair users or other needs. Cleanliness okay, but could be better.

    Fabulous

We had a very lovely stay at Generator. The interior is lovely and in a good part of Berlin as there are many restaurants and bars nearby. Also there is a tram station outside so very easy to get to Alexanderplatz, Brandenburg gate etc. Rooms are very nice however my girlfriend did find a small amount of blood on one of her sheets. They did change it for her however and were very helpful.

Generator Berlin Mitte is a great place to stay. It totally fit for a weekend away, which was basically what i've experienced. Important details: - 6-people room has an internal toilet and shower (separated from each other) - you're not allowed to bring your own food inside (?) - late check-out 5eur fee

    Very Good

The Generator Berlin was in a great location, and the staff were very helpful. If you're younger and want a place to be social I wouldnt recommend this one. Its more of a hotel than a hostel, which is great for some travelers but wasn't what my friends and I were looking for. The outdoor space closed at 11PM, the indoor common space was dead silent at 11, and no outside food and drink. No AC meant we had to change rooms too because we couldn't sleep (after spending 2 months in the Middle East).

The rooms are tiny and there’s no air conditioning in the rooms so it was really hard to sleep in the heat. There’s also no kitchen to make your own food and the restaurant and bar in the hostel are pretty expensive. Other than that there’s a good atmosphere and the staff are friendly. I probably wouldn’t stay again though because of heat in the rooms and the extra costs.
