Perfect location, friendly staff and sparkling clean. The rooms were really well set up with a storage drawer for bags and plenty of plug ins near the beds. The cafe next door sells great flat whites too! I would definitely stay here again.

This place is huge. I was there for 4 nights, and there was only someone in my room once. The privacy was nice. And it was pretty close to everything. Easy to walk everywhere.

    Fabulous

I’ve stayed in a Generator before in Paris. And it was the reason I stayed in another Generator in Berlin whilst travelling around. But my room was so different to the pictures and also what I experienced in Paris, I asked some other people staying there, and there’s was as advertised. So I must of just got an unfinished room, but charging your phone on the floor whilst you’re in the top bunk doesn’t feel safe in a hostel. Especially when the pictures showed the beds had them built in like Paris

    Fabulous

Traveled solo and had my own room which was lovely but slightly lonely. Didn't seem like they had many community things to do. Also it felt like this was a hostel for large groups of people v solo travelers like myself. Bed was a little rough, felt like a well-used low budget mattress. Private bathroom was great though, extremely clean and water pressure wasn't awful. Location can't be beat though, it was right off a metro and if you wanted to walk everywhere you totally can.

    Fabulous

I stayed during several fairly warm days in late June (85 to 95F, or 30 to 35C), most of the rooms did not have forced air heating system, nor air conditioning. So the rooms had no real ventilation and during this hot period were very uncomfortable for sleeping. Also, cigarette smokers congregated in the atrium and around all the outside entrances. Non-smokers had no smoke free places to sit or congregate outdoors. Otherwise, location, value and staff were great. It's a large hostel -beware.

Good hostel, just had a few issues on the cleanliness side. In the showers they didn’t seem too clean, and could do with a shower Mat so that people don’t slip and mud isn’t everywhere

    Good

It was in a good location. The rooms are very very hot and no windows or fans. You cannot be bring your own food or drinks in and so are forced to use their bar and restaurant if you want to stay in. Prices of food is not that cheap I didn't think and about 3.50€ for glass of wine. Keycard kept not working so had to keep down to reception to get it fixed. I didn't hate my stay but I probably wouldn't stay again, which is unfortunate as a I am just at the start of my trip & I was recommended to.

This was by far the worst stay I’ve had in a hostel. I did not pay 40$+ per night to stay in a room with non working air conditioners, which they promised to supplement with fans. Big surprise we never got fans, it can be very warm in Berlin and not having a/c ruined my daytime in the room as well as attempting to sleep there. That was my main issue, however they also checked me into a 4bed dorm room and then moved me to an 8bed dorm without telling me. My key card stopped working multiple times

The hostel failed to provide its basic function. Out of 4 people in my room, none were able to get any sleep. Due to a lack of AC or any ventilation, we were forced to keep the window open, because at midnight the temperature in the room was over 30 degrees Celsius. The window overlooked the hostel’s courtyard, thus exposing us to music and noises from the hostel’s bar until 3 AM, and then shouting and singing from random drunk guests throughout the entire night. Go only if you don’t need sleep.

Had a heat rash after sleeping here. My room was completely crammed, the 8 bed should have been a 6 bed at the most! If someone's locker was open you couldn't walk to the loo. Over 30 degrees with windows that don't open, no fans and no AC felt like suffocating! Honestly, if you're gonna have a room that hot at least have the common decency of adding eucalyptus scent and calling it a sauna. Also, hordes of teenagers everywhere. No kitchen. Too expensive for what it is.
