This was a solid place to stay. Close to both the Piccadilly line on the Underground and Kings Cross area made it a great place to start every day and get around the city. The first night we arrived the bathroom was a bit of a mess, but by morning the whole place had been very thoroughly cleaned. The private 4-bed room was a little cramped, but otherwise was fine accommodation for just sleeping. Would recommend

A very cozy accommodation in the heart of Central London. You can walk to Russell's Square, Gordon Square, Brunswick Shopping Center, and Tavistock Square. It's within walking distance of LSHTM and Birbeck University of London. Staff are welcoming.

Really good stay here. Lots of people living here long term, good community and the staff was very helpful. Facilities aren’t anything special but are fine (bathroom, bedrooms). Bar is open 5-11:30 pm daily. Security is great and the location is fantastic, short walk to Russell square and kings cross. Next time I’m back I will be returning to generator!

Clean rooms and facilities. Staff were polite and friendly. It's a pretty central location but not too noisy. There was a shortage of toiletries to purchase. They didn't have any shampoo to purchase and had to borrow a friends.

I stayed in the female dorm on the 5 th floor , while I was in the ladies toliet at midnight , the male worker tried to come and do cleaning . I think if outside the door showing the cleaning period is more secure. The lockers underneath the beds are not really convenient, it made sounds and the door is heavy . Specially when someone is sleeping.

Generator London was not what I was used to from generator hostels. Primarily the rooms, it really just shocked me to meet 3 different people in my room who were living there long term, months on end, with their bike, electric tea kettle, hot plate, closet hanger filled with clothes, and food laid out everywhere. I understand the world isn’t what it once was but this was sad. Felt less like a hostel for travelers and more like a shelter of sorts...

The check in was very easy, but it didn't really feel welcoming. The facilities were big and clean, the rooms could have been so much better. There was dust all over the bed frame and my bed was not made yet when I arrived. I can't really say much about the atmosphere cause we didn't use the lounge and bar area, but our room mates were really weird and rude: leaving lights on, being loud at night, etc. Also it smelled funny? The location was very great though, and we weren't at the hostel a lot.

Our room was in the basement with windows leading out into nothingness but perhaps the bin area because the smell in our room when we arrived was terrible. The room was very small and dingy with the decor starting to peel off the walls. The safety lock on the door also didn’t work. In the middle of the night a very loud alarm randomly went off for a few seconds in our room with a bright light, scaring us both. We will not be staying here again.
