I had a fantastic stay here! It's a traditional Ryokan where you can find silence and hide from the bustle of the city. This also meant that there was not much of a social atmosphere while I was there. That suited me well for my time there but if you are a solo traveller expected to meet other people it may not be the most ideal setting. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this lovely place to all :)

Rooms were really nice, you can keep your belongings right next to you rather than in a separate locker. Location was awesome, so much to do within a 10 minute walk and also close to bus stops. Socialising area could've been better

Clean hostel in the middle of Gion. Close to many shrines and temples, it's like walking through history. Dorms are clean and for the most part quiet, but the walls are a little bit thin. There are only 3 showers for everyone to share, so I imagine it could be a bit difficult during busy season. But, I'd stay here for a short trip, again.

Really lovely traditional hostel, nice big beds, though they were slightly hard. Not much of a social atmosphere but really nice relaxed hostel with a comfy common room and good facilities and really great location.

Traditional Japanese style house in Gion- your bed cubby is pretty spacious. There is also a kitchen if you want to make your own food. Atmosphere is kinda lacking but it’s a clean place in a good location.
