It’s a lovely hostel. I think I had the most comfortable hostel bed I ever had. The staff was really helpful and it’s an amazing location. I would definitely stay there again

First of all, the location is in a very nice area next to a park and with a wonderful view. A Victorian house full of history. It is not really close to the city centre, but if you enjoy walking it is not a bad option. It is a quiet place, definitely no party hostel.

The rooms were super clean and looked very new. Bathrooms were the same. Part of the roof leaked downstairs due to the heavy rain, but the staff looked after it as best they could. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to shops but not a lot of food choices in the immediate area. Right by Kelingrove park though, makes for really nice walks.

    Fabulous

I loved this hostel! Definitely on the quieter side, not a party hostel, which I enjoyed, but also not a sober hostel--they sell beers on site. Huge, gorgeous building, in walking distance to a ton of iconic bars and restaurants. A stones throw from the University and Kelinsgrove Park. Downsides: : The environment is not the most suitable for making new friends; if you're going downtown it's a bit of a walk (though fine with a bus pass); there's an upcharge for everything. Lots of room!

    Fabulous

Nice hostel, in a wonderful location. Staff is really nice and helpful. Kitchen is well equipped, bed is comfortable. I stayed in a 6 bed - missed the plugs next to the bed, there was only one plug for everyone to use. Atmosphere is nothing special, but that tends to be the case in every big hostel. Apart from that, would recommend staying here if you need a quiet base to discover Glasgow/rest before your highland adventure.

    Fabulous

Location and facilities were great. We are cyclists and being able to lock bikes safely and use self catering facilities is great. However I did not get much sleep! I would never book a 6 bed dorm bed again. No individual bed lights meant that main light was on fir a long time. One woman using a hair dryer at 10.30pm beside my bunk woke me up and alarm at 05.45 with 30 minutes noisy packing by another woman meant very little sleep. Suggestions: house rules about respect for others.

    Very Good

Beautiful hostel--gorgeous building. A bit out of the way of city center, but if you are willing to walk, it's worth it. Rooms are very clean, but cramped. Had some problems with the plumbing. Compared to the staff at the 50+ other hostels I've been to, I found this staff dry. Surely they are overwhelmed by the amount of work they have, but I was surprised that they were so much less friendly than almost all the other very friendly and helpful Glaswegians I met while in this amazing city.

Nice enough hostel but zero atmosphere. But the staff were friendly and helpful. Maybe should try to organize social events and outings?

    Good

Massive complex, which attracts everyone from backpackers to school classes and senior citizens. Sadly absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever, probably due to the size of all the rooms. VERY dull place to stay in, albeit clean and pretty to look at. Good WiFi, but heavily restricted through Firewall that has to be bypassed even for reading YouTube comments. It's a bit of a walk to the nearest shops, but feasible
