Property Description

A warm welcome awaits you at our very rural and rustic accommodation in the heart of the valley of Glencoe.

The hostel (standard rooms) is an original highland croft sleeping up to 26, in 4 bedrooms of either 6 or 8 beds. During quieter times you can book sole use of a 6 bedded room for either 2 or 4 people so no sharing! It has a dining room, kitchen and lounge with open log fire. This is available only to guests staying in the hostel building. Hostel rooms are marked 'standard' in the search.

THE BUNKHOUSE (basic rooms) is more basic than the hostel although it has recently been refurbished. The bunkhouse sleeps 16 in 1 room of 8 and 2 rooms of 4. It has a central communal sitting/cooking/eating area. The bathroom is accessed externally. Bunkhouse rooms are marked 'basic' in the search. Guests staying in the bunkhouse do not have access to the hostel building with the open fire etc.

In both properties bed linen is provided and beds are made for your arrival. Bunkhouse guests do not have use of the hostel facilities and vice versa.

We offer a basic continental breakfast for £2.75 which must be booked in advance.

We are located 'in the middle of nowhere' between Glencoe Village and the Clachaig Inn. We are easily accessible by car or bike and 1.5 miles from the bus stop in Glencoe Village. You can stock up with food on your way through. Our views are fantastic.

We are set in 2 acres of land, surrounded with native woodland, which is home to Roe and Red Deer, wild birds and the occasional Pine Marten. Come rain or shine, the scenery is breathtaking, with views of the ridge and the Pap. If all night partying is your thing you'll find it elsewhere, if you want fantastic scenery and love the outdoors this is the place for you!

We have several low level walks locally, plus several 'Munros'. Walking and cycling route advice is readily available. We have a have a purpose built drying room for your kit,.

Bike hire is available in the village - why not pre-book it?

Reception is open from 2pm to 9pm (late arrivals possible via prior arrangement), we have no curfew and don't close the hostel in the day, so if the weather is not great, then you can just chill out in front of the fire with a book. View House Rules

The best hostel experience I've had in a decade. Clean, spacious, perfectly located within the Glen, friendly staff that will help you plan routes, full of all sorts of people criss-crossing Scotland on different routes and eager to share their experience at the end of the day... A MUST GO

Overall, a really good time! It's a bit of a hike from the nearest bus stop but at least the walk is pretty! Wouldn't recommend trying it in the dark because there are absolutely no street lights. Loved that the rooms are concentrated in one bunkhouse so the common space was really social. I was solo traveling and it was awesome to make friends! Decent bathroom facilities considering it's in the middle of the woods, and good kitchen facilities with cookware and dishes. Safe, clean.

Perfect location especially if you are looking to do walks in the beautiful Glencoe hills. Beside a creek, very tranquil. Basic accommodation but lovely, comfortable bed, big kitchen. Would stay here again.

I stayed two nights in "standard" and one night in the cheaper "basic" (Alpine). I actually preferred Alpine: felt more open/less crowded.

Great staff and the hostel suggests nice breakfast for 3 pounds only. The cleanliness and showers needs a little work, and so good, also the location is a bit problematic for certain people - in the middle of nowhere and about 30 mins walk from the village.

easy check-in, we had a car but a little far (a lot) down the road if you are walking or using transit. Walls are thin so was noisy at night, especially with family and young children in next room. I have stayed at multiple hostels and probably would look at other options next time .. Bathroom facilities are very minimal, toilets and showers all together in one room and coed - overall found it to be cramped and damp

When I booked on the website I was naive to the fact that the “bunk house” was not exactly the hostel. My fault for not doing my research. When I checked in I assumed I was staying at a hostel. Nope, it was an old barn converted into a few rooms and a common room. Yes it’s cheap and it served its purpose but it was damp, dirty, bathrooms are worse than a camp ground set up. Staff was lovely and the location is great so I’m sure the hostel itself was nice but avoid the bunk house at all costs!!

The rooms are very very damp and the smell of damp is very apparent. I completely understand that this is cheap accommodation but cleanliness is the very minimum I would expect, regardless of price. The dorm rooms have a huge presence of bugs as do the showers and toilets. Major improvements needed.
