Lovely and friendly staff. Generally not that clean but not horrific either. Kitchen facilities were of good standard. I personally had a wonderful stay as its a beautiful historic building filled with lovely people. If you are planning on staying here you will enjoy it most if you go with an open mind. Thank you to everyone who made me feel welcome.

Cleanliness was very poor. Some facilities on the toilets were broken. And the linen provided was dirty. The kitchen, no comments, specially the fridge. The environment was cool.

Whilst friendly staff & guests, the womens bunk room was cold and damp with a horrible musty smell as the door was opened. It needs a good airing out then drying out with heaters regularly. I couldn't wait to leave. Kitchen was decent and kept clean and warm, well arranged. Bathroom not great with broken sinks not fixed. Bedding old and worn but at least clean. Premises safe except on arrival noone let me in and I stood at the entrance in the rain banging the door a while,.

The bathroom facilities are inadequate. Half the sinks on the floor I was staying on were out of order with tape wrapped around them to prevent usage. Not all the toilet doors in the female toilet facility had locks on them. The shower rooms were filthy, as was the kitchen. The fridge, although a sign said it was emptied and checked for left and out of date food, had exactly that in it. I have paid the same amount for other hostels were the facilities were clean, fully functioning and well run

For a beautiful English city this is not a hostel I would of expected . The staff were really helpful and friendly .But the hostel Very unclean the bathrooms weren’t cleaned just toilet roll refilled . A lot of long term people staying. People drinking through the day In the hostel and coming back drinking smelling of alcohol . Not a great atmosphere the people didn’t seem welcoming It was as if you were living in their house . I’m sure it could be such a great place with a bit more love

As the only Hostel in Exeter they can afford to be complacent and overcharge for what they offer. General conditions of the room were poor and no attempts were made over my 4 night stay to resolve this. Would recommend paying the extra £10 and stay in a private room in the Premier Inn around the corner To summarise in one quote, it smelt of cheese

Facilities were terrible. Bed was awful. Only got a couple hours sleep because of other people coming in really late into the room and next door. Also, made a lot of noise even though it states past 11 it's quiet. Bed wasn't even made for either of us. Noisiest bed ever, could not even slightly move without it creaking really loudly and waking person below up. People in the room were inconsiderate. Lockers but did not provide lock. Never ever going here again.
