Very homey hostel, good vibes. Good location and very close to hiking trails/bus route to Morskie Oko. Facilities are a bit old but that kind of adds to the charm. Very cute kitten there too!

Bang a few nails in the floor boards to stop excessive squeaks around bedrooms . Also should at least put the upper bunk beds bedding on blanket/bed to avoid excessive squeeks and shaking of the bed when a tired hiker is trying to sleep on the other bed at night .. BUT great hostel 😉

A beautifully crafted house in the trees with the river nearby. Lovely owner who uses Work Away staff and doesn't treat them as slaves. Great atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing hostel with amazing staff, only downside was the WiFi only really worked in the common room. Other than that, best hostel I’ve stayed in and will 100% recommend.

This hostel is perfect if you are coming to hike in the tatras national park (entrance and bus very close). The staff is nice and helpful and the atmosphere is really pleasant. This is much like a cabin in the wood so you have to expect that the facilities are a little rustic (small kitchen, few showers, steep stairs). The only things that need an upgrade are the beds (not very comfortable) and the linens. There are also very few locks but I felt very safe. I would come back again !

I would stay else where if ever back in zakopane, there are more options in the centre of town. The hostel is nice in the sense it's in a old wood building, but that's it. I was given two duvet covers and a couch cushion cover as a pillow case, I don't mind grungy backpacking but this is just a bit of a mick take... I just used one as a sleeping bag. The bathroom door doesn't lock. It's in the middle of nowhere with irregular busses or an hour walk to town. No shops or anything really nearby.

Pros: basic digs, standard euro hostel breakfast, close to hiking trails, affordable, good atmosphere Cons: no instructions on how to get to hostel (which is necessary if you're getting a bus), super patchy wifi, kitchen is miniscule with only two stove tops, cats if you have allergies

Great atmosphere, location and people. Would definitely stay again! But some negatives; staff don’t have an extensive knowledge of hikes/buses - this could be amended by the hostel owners providing written information for staff & guests to acquaint themselves with (This is done really well at the Ginger Monkey Hostel in Zdiar). Only 2 tiny hot plates for the entire hostel - big wait for cooking. Poor security, should at least have a lock on the front door. Still a great hostel!
