Property Description

Looking for a place to escape the city, reconnect with nature and hike your ass off? Look no further!

Hidden away in the forest, yet still very accessible, there’s a magical place called Good Bye Lenin.

The main hostel is a beautiful cabin build in 1909. It’s cosy living room with free breakfast makes for the perfect place to start the day. And what better way to end an adventure filled day than with a cold beer and some delicious food from our BBQ.

Our hostel is in the middle of nature, yet the nearest bus into town (and to the Morski Oko lake), mini market and entry to the national park are just a 5 minute walk away.

Hiking, kayaking, horse riding, mountain biking, climbing.. You name it. Pretty much every outdoor sport is possible here. And our international staff, who are mountain lovers themselves, are more than happy to help you out with recommendations and tips.

Sometimes, however, it is time to relax. Mao (the hostel cat) needs cuddling and Majka (the hostel goat) is always up for a deep conversation. Reenergize for the next day of endless fun.

To get a taste of what your stay at Goodbye Lenin could be like, just have a look at our Facebook page ‘Zakopane Goodbye Lenin Hostel’. Or better yet, drop by for a visit ;)

See you soon,

Mao, Mia, Majka and the rest of the GBL staff View House Rules

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at! The atmosphere is very welcoming & I made some long-lasting connections here. There is also a hiking trail right across the street so you don't need to plan much to enjoy a trek in the mountains. I would highly recommend all types of people choose this hostel.

Really cool cabin in the woods hostel! Super homey and warm. All the volunteers are amazing and answered any questions we had. Shout out to Jax! Beautiful location, even in Spring there was amazing snow. Rooms are cosy and kitchen is well-equiped, definitely recommend! :)

A really cozy hostel! Had a great few nights there, the staff (volunteers) were extremely helpful and friendly and made me feel so welcome and at home. Would like to give a shoutout to Emma and the rest - you guys are the best! Thanks for making my stay such a great one. The hostel itself is clean and has good facilities. Only real issue I see is that it only has two toilets so may have to wait a bit especially if they're full, but I didn't have that problem at all!

I only have two minor negative things to say. First, the bathrooms got gross in the mornings after heavy use. I suggest they get a fan to reduce moisture. Second, it was a little far from the city. Just factor in a few extra zloty in your expenses to pay for buses. Other than that, it was a perfect stay! Love the heavy wooden beds that don't creak. Love the hostel cats. Love the vibes.

We had a really lovely stay here at the Goodbye Lenin. The staff is extremely friendly. They do have cats there, so if you’re allergic just be aware- they are very friendly though. The floors and furniture are pretty loud and creak a lot since everything is wood so bring ear plugs!!!! Personally thought the mattresses were very comfortable however they could use new bedding and pillows. Also if you sleep by the window you’ll be cooking, they don’t have any curtains. Overall great place!

Such a chilled hostel, essentially a log cabin in the woods. Very cosy vibes and right near the entrance to the national park. Staff are very friendly and get involved with guests. Only downside is nearest shop is about a 15 minute walk away.

You pay for what you get. The hostel is full of workaway workers along with travellers. There are two toilets and two showers for the whole hotels so can be a wait to get into the shower. Total of 26people staying here. The kitchen is tiny and always busy. You can hear everything throughout the hostel. Beds creaking, dripping of water. The main room has no curtains, the view is amazing. Bring and eye mask and ear plugs. Overall cheap for backpackers, I wouldn't stay here again.
