Sannomiya, specifically in Kobe, is the center of the cultural crossroads.

Guesthouse Maya opened in thick of local town Nada at the foot of the stunning mountain, where is not very far at all from Sannomiya.

I rarely give 10/10 however Guesthouse MAYA was perhaps the nicest wee guesthouse we ever stayed in. DO THE MONDAY FOOD TOUR, it's banging. The owners and the staff are the nicest people going, and spending my birthday there was a treat. Cannot thank them enough. It was also maybe the comfiest hostel bed I've ever slept - in my wee pod with it's own fan. Bliss. Free tickets to go up the mountain cable car as well. Well worth a stay here. Cannot recommend enough, hope to see them all again soon:)

The best guest house I've been to so far in Japan. The staff is the best! Super helpful, down to earth and fun to hang out with. They can help you out with good recommendations for restaurants, good places to visit etc. Just tell them what you like to do and they'll help you out. My best recommendations.

Absolutely enjoyed my stay here at Kobe Guesthouse Maya! Not only was the staff super helpful and friendly so were the guests. I was fortunate enough to be visiting when the hostel was giving a free food tour a few blocks away and all the food we got to try was amazing! The owner led the tour and that just goes to show he cares. Highly recommend this place even though the stairs are scary steep! Haha

Their staff is really friendly more than staff i feel like they’re friends. They always ask guest where they went today how today was like. And I even have some beer with them talking about stuff together. Recommended for anyone who like talking and communication with other guest But about facility things sometimes wifi is too bad to use. The floor is seem to fragile than usual.

Great little hostel with a very chilled out vibe. It's not the closest to the centre but Nada station is nearby. The staff were excellent.

No atmosphere and maybe 6 guests in the whole place, mainly locals. Lights out in the common room by 11 and a bunch of rules. Lovely staff, decor, facilities and beds. Security was good, although the pin codes got tedious. Little lockers behind the beds big enough for belongings. Located next to a tube stop that can take you to Kobe station for ~160 yen. About an hour and half walk from the lively areas though. Staff gave me a free Mount Maya cable pass which made value for money 10/10
