The perfect guesthouse! The location is great, near the tram station and the Dogo onsens. The guesthouse is small and cozy, I immediately felt at home. The owner, Rie, is the best! We had a lot of talks and she offered homemade cheesecake, tea and mochis. It had a great time at miso soup guesthouse!

Great place and excellent location. It is small with a tiny kitchen but the atmosphere was very nice. Felt like were staying at a friends house. The host, Rie, was super nice and had great suggestions for things to do. She went above and beyond to be helpful and made everyone feel welcome. We made a lot of friends hanging out in the common sitting area, playing cards and music. Everything you need is within walking distance and the neighborhood is not only safe but the people are very friendly.

Stayed one night in dorm. The guesthouse is an old Japanese style house and the facilities may not be the best, but it's very cozy. I didn't shower here because the Dogo Onsen is so close. Bed is comfortable enough for me. All guests and the owner Rie were sitting in the living room and having a good time with a small music jam session. Later she took us to a very nice local live music bar. I really enjoyed the short stay here.

It's a small old Japanese house. So it can feel cramped and cluttered, but on the other hand, it feels like you're staying at someone's house. The manager is so friendly and kind, and it's extremely close to Dogo onsen and the streetcar stop.

    Very Good

Very Average Hostel - If you're looking for a cheap place in Matsuyama this is great for a quick couple nights stay. Really close to Dogo Onsen (couple minute walk) was the biggest benefit. Additionally it is very close to the local trolley/train which can take you to other parts of town. Otherwise a very average hostel experience.

Compared to other comparatively priced hostels I stayed in whilst in Japan this was very under par. The place doesn't feel very clean or looked after and - the toilet always stank of urine, you have to brush your teeth in the kitchen sink etc. The worst aspect was the complete lack of security despite the listing noting "Key Card Access". The front door is open 24/7 with no lock of any kind and the same applies to the actual rooms. Would not recommend.
