If you want to stay next to Mount Fuji then You will struggle to find anywhere better to stay. This place is the best to get away from the hustle and bustle of Japan’s big cities. Marino and Kei were the best hosts. The guesthouse is spotlessly clean and in an excellent location right on lake Yamanakako. Has everything you could want in a guesthouse!

What a fantastic stay at Murabito Guesthouse. Kei and Marino where such fantastic hosts. They have set up a wonderful Guesthouse which has a lovley atmosphere. It was a perfect spot to spend some time in the beautiful area of Mt Fuji. Although the transport around mt fuji is initially quite difficult to work out, Kei and Marino were super helpful and we quickly worked out how to get around! Thank you for a fantastic stay!

I had such a lovely stay at Guesthouse Murabito! The owners were so friendly and helpful, they helped me rearrange my bus to Tokyo and advised me on how to spend my time there. The guesthouse itself is beautiful and there is so much care taken in making sure guests are as comfortable as possible.

Guesthouse Murabito is easily the best place I’ve ever stayed. It is VERY clean AND well decorated. Every tiny detail is accounted for, making it a very cozy and hospitable. The rooms are very large. The common areas draw all guests inside, leading to many fulfilling conversations with guests from around the world. The owners (Marino and Kei) take care of the house themselves, and spend a lot of time interacting with guests also. This very much feels like my Japanese home away from home!!!

Marino and Kei are excellent hosts who have a lovely spot just a 2 minute walk from the lake edge. It is a small town, so don't expect anything other than busing in terms of public transport, there arw numerous restaraunts and stores within walking distance. The house itself is very comfy and clean, and its a great way to meet people due to the its layout. Overal a wonderful home and location, and a great change of pace from the mega-cities

If you want to experience Mount Fuji in the most tranquil of settings amongst the nature, rather than staying in the busy town of Kawaguchiko (where most people stay), then definitely choose Yamanaka! Guesthouse Murabito is a 30 second walk from the main bus stop in Yamanaka and a 50 second walk from Yamanakako Lake. The area is beautiful and the hostel is a really clean, lovely quiet place to stay. You can take a bus to different areas around Fuji. I would definitely stay again!
