Cool. I did not like the pods. I should have known since I suffer from claustrophobia. I could not fault the staff though. Jack is cool. He went to sell his art In Lisbon. And his dad comes from The Wirral. ‘Go ed lad, make us a nice cup of tea’ That made me laugh. My dad used to say that to me. L.

Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. There was an error in my booking and they were actually full but still found a separate group room for me to stay in. The location is perfect too.

Nice staff and good ambient. Beds with comfortable matress, no metal bed, so not noises, and with a courtain to keep your privacity. Toilet with shower in every room so you don´´t need to move out of your room to have a shower or to go to the toilet. I would recommend to anyone visting the city.

Friendly, clean hostel, in not too bad shape. The point are a good idea, and give you some privacy and chatting from the light, although the top ones at least are not completely enclosed so some gets in over the top. Overall good value for money though.

Very well located hostel in Brighton, right next to the Pier and close walking distance to the bus station. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful! However, the wifi was not very consistent or strong and cleanliness was an issue. I stayed in the “pods” and there was old grape vines on top of the cupboard and crumbs on the ledge next to where I laid my head. The shower could also do with a good scrub. Nice for a couple of nights.

I was greeted by Alex when I arrived, true gentleman! Even carried my bag up 4 flights of stairs for me! Greet location and good value for money! The sleeping pod was comfortable with good blockout curtain for darkness and privacy. I never used the common area during my stay. Washing machine and dryer were great. Only down fall was the mould build up in the shower! Was tempted to buy shower cleaner during my stay. Would stay again for sure!

For my first hostel experience, Happy Brighton was just what I needed. The pod beds are a great idea and provide extra privacy. The rooms were also cleaned daily. Location was extremely convenient with only a short walk to the Brighton Pier, The Lanes, and bus stops. I do agree with past reviews that the atmosphere was more of a shared accommodation due to the long-termers. Regardless, everyone was still friendly and I was invited to hang with them on a couple of occasions. I enjoyed my stay :)

    Very Good

    06 Aug 2019
Positives: the staff were lovely, the capsule beds were great you had your own private space and could block out the light and the bathroom was good. Negatives: the cleanliness of the downstairs area was poor especially the sink and oven trays and dirty dishes. It would help if there were teatowels so we could dry things and put them away. I was told there would be a container in the kitchen and the fridge i could put food in but all of them are used already.

The only thing going for this place is the amazing location. The kitchen is a mess (there are still NO hand towels), the wifi is non-existent and the place smells musty as the carpets have seen better days. I’m sure this place used to be happy, but now it needs a good industrial clean from top to bottom, and a staff that will give a crap.
