One of the best hostels I’ve been to! Great facilities including an amazing kitchen dining area and breakfast!! The lounge and social area great too with lots of activities! Comfy •non squeaky• bed (bonus!) and the location was perfect, right in Chinatown near Boston common and walking distance to multiple T stations! Only issue was with the heating (too hot!) staff came up at midnight to try and help but no luck - on the second night we just turned it off and opened a window! Highly recommend!

I just have two things i thought Could improve. USB outlets in the rooms and the common areas. And lockers with built in locks for those of us who are not backpacking, but just traveling for a couple nights, and don’t pack a lock. Also, a light inside the lockers. I had To use my iPhone flashlight to see inside it was too dark.

I’m accustomed to staying in hostels in other countries, so for me the price seemed very high for a bunk bed in a dorm room. Boston is an expensive city, however, so maybe that justifies the price. Overall the hostel was great - everything was super clean and you had to swipe into the dorm area with your key then swipe again to get into your room, which made me feel very safe, security wise. If you have a little extra money to spend I would definitely recommend it!

Way overpriced and reception staff treated guests like an annoyance and a transaction. I’ve worked and stayed in hundreds of hostels and HI Boston is probably the worst in terms of traveller community. The receptionist also charged my debit card without even asking me and then proceeded to give me no information nor welcome and called out NEXT as if I was an inconvenience. Apart from that, and the added cost of storing luggage (which is ridiculous!), the facilities and location was very good.
