Chill staff, beautiful old mansion, professional grade kitchen, foggy haunted Marin Headlands. This is an amazing Hostel and I will be back for sure!

A nice relaxing place. I didn’t have any cell phone service, but maybe that’s just the kind of retreat you need!

I had to travel to go see a specialist doctor in the area and was looking for a budget place to stay and this was perfect. I appreciate the slow chill vibes and the nature. I could totally see myself coming back for a longer visit just for fun! I stayed in the coed dorm on the second floor and for some reason that was the only room that didn't have a key card lock, or any kind of lock so that was weird but otherwise it was kind of hot and stuffy but overall a calm quiet experience.

A really nice and calm hostel just outside San Francisco. It is a great starting point for hiking trips around the area. But be aware that the next supermarket/restaurant is a couple of miles away (in Sausalito). So you might want to stock up on food before getting there :)

Perfect place is for hiking and exploring. It’s great place for hiking. Several routes for hiking to beaches, Bonita Lighthouse, and Golden Gate Bridge. Building is old but clean. Free parking right next to the building. My cellphone has no signal in that place. WiFi is good.

Very unique property in a gorgeous location! I was in the annex location. I don’t expect super clean facilities so it didn’t bother me much but if you need cleanliness, make sure to ask for the main house (annex has no sanitization for dishes area, no papertowels downstairs bathroom the 3 days I was there and another occupant finally went to the front to ask about the trash as it was never taken out and quite built up). I’ll definitely return!

Hostel full of school children, arguing all evening and early morning in the corridor. Bizarre communal showers, as well as sinks that you have to hold the tap down to rinse hands. Compared to other hostels and even other HI hostels this is far below par. Staff were unhelpful and unwelcoming. Beds and pillows were overly used, with unpractical ladders. Next to no plug sockets in the room and cobwebs everywhere.
