    Superb

One of my favorite hostels so far. It was very conducive to talking to other travelers, they had free pancakes and coffee, and people were staying there from all over the world. Located in the middle of a beautiful & peaceful national recreation area, but just 5 min away from the city. The only negatives were that it's hard to find transportation from there without a car, and if you do have a car you have to pay the $8 toll every time you go into San Fran. I would definitely stay here again

This hostel is in an amazing location and is inside old buildings that have been repurposed. We were in the annex building which was down the road from the main building. The main building seemed very clean but the annex was a little less taken care of. Still very nice for an old building!

A lovely place to stay if you want to be secluded and far enough from San Francisco but close to the natural beauty of the Marin Headlands. We had a nice hike down to the beach the next morning, and visited the Marine Mammal Rescue center, a wonderful stop to see how people are helping treat injured or sick sea mammals like the sea lion.

    Very Good

Beautiful hostel set in a beautiful environment. I could’ve lounged there by the fire for days. However, if you’re staying there to visit San Francisco like I did, be careful: the bus runs ONLY ON THE WEEKENDS. And uber trips are like 40$ so that wasn’t an option for me. Also, for an almost 10/10 hostel, I would’ve expected showers that are not only separated by a flowing plastic curtain...the bathroom in general wasn’t too clean either. And the guy at the reception when I checked in was rude.

Hostel full of school children, arguing all evening and early morning in the corridor. Bizarre communal showers, as well as sinks that you have to hold the tap down to rinse hands. Compared to other hostels and even other HI hostels this is far below par. Staff were unhelpful and unwelcoming. Beds and pillows were overly used, with unpractical ladders. Next to no plug sockets in the room and cobwebs everywhere.

The staff were meant to arrive at 7am and didn't arrive until 8.30am. I saw a mouse in the kitchen. The room wasn't clean. We had to strip and make the bed ourselves - and duvet and mattress were dirty. The location is superb.
