First time staying at a hostel. All staff that I encountered were very helpful, courteous and informative. The guests that stayed there were all very nice as well. Thanks for a great experience. I will be back in the future.

Our biking foursome loved the hostel and with a busstop out front for getting around when not biking--what could be more ideal? The staff was SO helpful with biking road suggestions, bus info, and eating-out recommendations. Everyone was friendly. Great place!

HI at Martha's Vineyard is a solid place and, being this only hostel on the island, is extremely affordable comparatively speaking. The hostel environment is very docile, so not much in the way of meeting people. Also, its location is pretty much a bus ride away from everything. Still, it's quiet, safe, and clean, so no complaints.

This a big, beautiful hostel about 20 min from town via bus. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is big and well stocked. The property is spacious and beautiful. My only suggested improvements are to update the spice rack contents and provide bigger lockers.

Manager talked such big game about beating me and my friend at big Jenga and we kicked her butt. Then she bought us $50 dollars worth of drinks. 10/10 would stay again so we can beat her again and get more free drinks.

The staff are friendly, hard-working and knowledgable, and I met some interesting guests while relaxing in the comfortable common area. The kitchen is large, and free breakfast items simple but yummy. The location, near town and buses, allowed me to make the most of my time and get to the other side of MV by bus quickly for my ferry to the Cape. I would've stayed longer if I could. Only cons: the dorm is very drab, and I'm not sure if there are lockers for valuables. Overall a sweet stay!

Would it kill someone to mop the floors in the room? Our Co ed dorm room was nearly empty and filthy. The showers on the second level were poorly maintained with old dirty shower liners (you can replace these for $1 it a dollar store..) water pressure poor and odorous. Screaming children during quiet hours in the morning and no parents to stop them. Sheets are translucent and slide right off the mattress once laying on it. Just a little more attention to cleanliness would go a long way here.

Aloof, inefficient staff. Too many kids. Chaotic kitchen. A bunch of strangers thrown into a unmanaged situation. No fruit for breakfast, just coffee, bread, and everybody fending for themselves. Such a disappointment. New management? How in the world did this place it get best Hostel in 2014?
