The hostel was great! Everything was conveniently located which helped me to explore. Also, the scheduled events really added to my NYC experience. Staff were very helpful.

This is a great location with nearby subway stations, grocery stores and other places to eat. It had a nice atmosphere and the showers/toilets were really clean. The included breakfast was fairly basic but excellent. There's a cafe that does a great selection of food and drink. The only downside was that there was 1 hairdryer in the women's bathroom and it wasn't working.

The hostel itself is very nice with all facilities and great location. However they aren't really value for money. They charge 4$ a night as membership fee, which was not apparent when I made the booking (this is unless you have the 18$ annual membership, which I didn't have). Great place to stay but you should just be aware of the real costs if you are planning to stay there. Cheers.

Wasn't a fan of this hostel, the only reason to book this hostel is for its location. Coming from a really nice hostel definitely made it seem a lot worse. It didn't help that there were several kids school trips there. They were annoying running through the place, definitely not what I was expecting. Its not a typical backpackers hostel but they do provide nice facilities and friendly staff. No free tea and coffee, it was a debbie downer :(

Have been to this hostel twice - once was in an amazing dorm room with PowerPoints on my bunk and curtains, and once was in a really basic dorm room with little facilities. It seems like luck as to which one you get. Good common areas and convenient cafe within the hostel. Lots of group activities on offer. The elevator was broken when I was there so I had to walk up 4 floors with my bag.

The shower was a little gross, with hair being everywhere all the time, also no ventilation in the bathroom but other then that stay was good!

I didn't have any dealings with the staff because I was in and out the whole time. The Hostel is pretty clean, the cafe is nice minus the breakfast sandwiches lol and the patio is a great place to have morning coffee or breakfast. I had to give the facility a bad rating though because the elevator was broke and I was there for 3 days. That elevator should have been fixed the day it broke because I had to climb 4 flights of stairs with luggage, plus the comings and goings.

I was upset when I arrived to my room With a temperature of 81 F. The room had AC that would turn off after 5 minutes and did absolutely nothing to cool down the room. Horrible to sleep in, room spelt so sweaty and gross. Elevator never worked. Bathrooms were super clean and staff were helpful and did try to come up to fix the ac but that didn’t work at all.

One of the check in staff was extremely rude to me when I wanted to clarify regarding the deposit being charged by hostelworld beforehand since I had to pay the full amount up front and not explaining whether I will receive my deposit money back. For someone who works serving international travelers, he did not seem to understand how to communicate with foreigners who may not understand fully the American attitude of explaining and looked down at my confusion. Terrible customer service.
