We booked this place months before our time in California... driving along the coastline to a beach we saw this lovely lighthouse, cool! Then it dawned on us, hey that's the place!! The setting is exquisite. Such cool stories and history surrounding the lighthouse. This was our first hostel experience. We were pleasantly surprised. It was great. Would totally recommend the experience.

HI Pigeon Point Hostel is subliminally beautiful and spiritual on many levels. During more than a week long stay, I found the staff to be courteous and professional, guests quirky and knowledgeable, and ambiance to be as enjoyable as it was therapeutic. Then, it is evident the large draw of select guests that visit this place - to rejuvenate, rediscover purpose, and meet out-of-your-circle folks, who teach you several things, and leave you a better person. Highly recommended.

We are blessed to have this location as a destination. There are many cycling routes and hiking trails with stunning views and places to explore. Half Moon Bay, Pescadero, the near by beaches are great places to visit and the restaurant choices are good.

scenery is beyond phenomenal with sky, ocean and California dramatic cliff coastline at your feet.....the lighthouse is a smaller lighthouse but still quaint. The grounds need a little TLC and it was my first experience sleeping in a dorm room with other people but it went really well. I was fairly surprised at the number of 60+, even 70+ aged visitors that seemed to be medically fragile and in a bit of a maelstrom of life events.....moving, transitioning to other less expensive housing, etc.

This is my first time staying in a hostel. Loved it. This location opened the door for me to seek out more hostels all over the world. As matter of fact, booked a hostel in Cancun.

We initially booked in for two nights but barely made it through the first night. This place is a magnet for retired people, no atmosphere or social interaction whatsoever. EVERYTHING on the property has to be paid for (from jacuzzi 8$/person per 30mins to tea bags 0,50$). Only one toilet and shower for at least 14 people per cottage. Our toilet was clogged in the morning and not timely handled by staff. Staff could not be bothered about our early check out. Horrible experience.
