I felt totally safe as a female traveling alone. I stayed in a mixed room and had no issues. Friendly staff, friendly people staying at the hostel while I was there. Super easy to hop on a bus downtown or a take a quick uber. Would recommend.

This is one of the better hostels I’ve stayed at throughout my travels. My favorite part was that it was so quiet, calm and relaxed. I enjoyed meeting people at the communal dining table and chatting. There was even a cat named Blackie!

One of the friendliest, homeliest hostels ever. A quiet vibe, if you are out for party this may not be the ideal spot. Otherwise great in every aspect.

This place was great. I loved the location, it was easy to get around with bus and easily walkable to other popular streets. I wish the fridge space was bigger because my stay was long I wanted to make some of my meals but it worked out because I tried Portland’s restaurants and such. The staff is very nice and are knowledgeable about the area.

The hostel is well kept and I appreciated both the locks on the shared room and the option to keep a locker for valuables. The location is great for Portland and made travel during my stay very easy and the price was great. My only trouble was there were a couple of times I found people not in my room trying to get in and when a couple of people came in late they would turn on all the lights and be inappropriately noisy. So, next time, I will probably spend the extra money on a private room.

Was a little too warm in the Willamette Room. Also, maybe a few more shelves in the bathroom by the kitchen. Would be nice if alcohol was allowed for us really old folks. I wanted to read a book with a glass of wine in my pajamas. :-(

    Very Good

Decent place as far as cleanliness and security. It’s an older building in a pretty busy part of town. Stayed one night in a coed dorm. The windows were open to cool the room and the street noise interrupted my sleep. Nice location - near many food trucks/restaurants. Staff was friendly and informative.

    Very Good

This hostel was nice to the eye. I unfortunately didn’t do my research and didn’t realize the place was so quiet. That was on me and I am so sure many people appreciate the peace, but This place was a little too corporately structured for my taste. Once again, poor research on my end. My only real complaint about this place are the beds. It was nearly impossible to get a decent sleep with how much noise the bunk beds in the Mt. Hood room made.
