If you dont mind a bed and room that is not up to a 5 star hotel experience, this place is great. The staff was very welcoming and the location is great. They have a cute outdoor area for games and the bedroom and front door is locked after office hours, making me feel safe. The parking is limited but there plenty of nearby (

Staff were really chilled and friendly. They had a free bbq night on one of the nights we were staying which was a bonus! It seemed there was some kind of social event for every day of week and it was shame that we weren’t staying longer to be able to participate. The room we stayed in was a family room with a bunk and double bed and it really nice and spacious. However the windows didn’t block out the noise of the street so well and on the first night I struggled to sleep a little.

This hostel is only a few blocks from really trendy stores and restaurants. They are passionate about recycling, composting, and water conservation. They have signs posted that say bathrooms will be renovated in the near future, but for now they aren't the most updated. They are very clean and the water pressure is great. It is important to note that THIS HOSTEL IS ALCOHOL AND MARIJUANA FREE. We did not know this when booking our stay and inconvenienced us quite a few times. Great for sobers

My friend's mom described it as “the most Portland place she's ever seen” and you can only take that positively! As an ‘eco-hostel’, they use rain water for the toilets for example, use the natural products and are overall pretty focused on being sustainable. It's based in a fashionable and young area with good restaurants and is especially comfortable to hang out at if you're not out spending time in this awesome city at the moment. It's also super clean and there are lockers for your stuff.

First time in Portland, and I loved the city. Super fun, and lots to do. Only aspect I did not like about this HI was that there is no lockers -- Was not a problem for me as I had my car, so I locked them in my trunk. If you do bring your car, I would highly recommend this location over that of HI Northwest. Free parking on all streets.

The hostel was cool, staff was nice, kitchen was great. Pretty basic hostel accommodation in a good location. The beds were super creaky though and not all that comfortable.
