This was the best hostel I have stayed in out of 15 hostels around the world. The staff was super friendly, everything was walking distance of each other and the private rooms are worth it! Great spot to go with friends or share a room with!

Everything is great except the roommate made super loud snore. It is hard to get sleep. Wish hostel could make snorers stay in the same room.

I had a beautiful time at HI Portland! All of the staff was extremely accommodating, and the areas provided to me were extremely useful. There are many people coming in and out of the hostel all day, yet it remained an enjoyably quiet and intimate place. I met some awesome people and ate some yummy food from the cafe. There were a couple of areas that could have been more clean, but this was better than any other hostel ive been in. I would highly recommend this place for a solo female! Thanks!

Easy to find, great location. We booked a 4 bedroom with 2 people and because of covid, we had the entire room to ourselves, so that was super nice! Breakfast is good - those bagels are yummy!

This is the third time my wife and I have stayed at HI Portland. We have greatly appreciated the friendly staff, vibrant atmosphere, and central location in NW Portland within walking distance of local coffee shops, breweries, grocery stores, and downtown. The private rooms (in various Victorian homes) are spacious. Plus, they're much more affordable than any of the motels, hotels, and AirB&Bs in the NW part of town. The on-site cafe serves tasty and affordable meals, too. We'll be back!

Great hostel! We were only there 2 nights, but it is such a cool building, friendly staff, and clean. We enjoyed the open mic night that is hosted there each Monday night as well as the complimentary breakfast (currently option of coffee/tea/juice and a local bagel). It was just fun to explore, too - there’s a secret garden area, library room, the Hostel Café, courtyard, etc. Lots of hangout places! Would definitely stay here again.

This is my third stay- I feel very comfortable. I always request a private room. The beds are good and the building I’ve stayed in the last two times (O’Donnell house) is remarkably quiet. I like the fact that my room includes breakfast of coffee and a bagel. The location is excellent.

Good place. Just be aware of parking your car at the streets near by. My car was broken into.

    Very Good

The poor internet connection affected by stay since I work remotely. Couldn't get a good connection in the dorms or in the cafe, or in the lobby, or in the building next door. Also, some of my food went bad in the refrigerator because it wasn't cold enough. Staff is always very patient and friendly, they go above and beyond.
