Private room was nice and the included breakfast of fresh bagels and coffee was lovely. Hostel had a bike storage room in the basement which was super convenient. Great location for exploring main parts of Portland. Would definitely stay again and recommend to those visiting Portland.

Stayed here two nights. Amazing hostel. Friendly staff, lovely building, great location. Offers lots of activities and has lots of places on the premises for hanging out, suitable for both introverts and extroverts! Loved that it was within walking distance of downtown and that a mini mart and park were right across the street.

I had a STUPENDOUS stay ... Great Location ( I thought it was gonna be kind of a secondary location since it was 18 blocks from the water- But believe me you DON'T want to be in the neighborhood closer to the water cuz it's VERY SKETCHY!) ... The place was sooo clean and had a fantastic Cafe with GREAT prices, charming vintage Victorian Architecture...my only beef (same as the hostel in NYC) the mattress is not firm and after a day or 2 my back was hurting (I stayed 5 days).

My boyfriend and I stayed for two nights. This hostel is in a great location. The free breakfast items are a plus! Staff is friendly and other guests are nice. I wish there was another fan, preferably a tall one for the private room. It was a little warm in the building for the end of August, but that might be due to the heat wave. Rooms are a bit dated decor wise. I would not recommend the walking tour. It's over 2 hours long, not very interesting and the guide is tip hungry.

Clean and in-town. Neighborhood seemed safe. Parking is on-street for those with cars. Free bagel and juice in the morning. Bathrooms were clean. The facility seemed well-maintained---everything worked. The check-in guy seemed stoned but this is Portland so I kind of expected it. Security is a problem. Sure they have locks, but you can be a man and say you are a woman and they will hand you a key card and put you in the women's dorm. Easy pickings for male predators. Welcome to Portland!
