Insanely good, way more than I ever expected. Staff were super friendly. Free breakfast was light but delicious (coffee, muffins, danishes, fruit). Rooms were basic but very clean and very comfortable. Feather pillows and comfortable mattresses. Karaoke was a blast (props to Minnie, I think was her name, for MCing!). One thing to note is that there's a $4 per night charge if you're not a HI member. Otherwise, no surprise fees for towels or anything. Definitely coming back. Thanks guys.

This is a really good hostel. Very welcoming staff, clean everywhere, and a great atmosphere. I love that they also allow guests to rent paddle boards and surfboards, but sadly if you don’t have a car the ocean isn’t quite within walking distance. Overall I’d definitely recommend this place if you want a cool, safe hostel environment on your trip to San Diego.

I was traveling with a kiddo and this was a great friendly place to land. I really liked being in a neighborhood, yet close to so many things in San Diego.

I have stayed at this property several times. This location is in a quiet neighborhood, but in airport flight path. Only negative is no public bus Nearby on Sundays. But its an easy 25 min walk to a bus on Sundays. The bus one block away (#923) stops running about 6:30 pm Mon thru Sat. The staff is very friendly and make cleaning a priority.

nice quiet place and clean with amenities and friendly atmosphere. staff is nice. street parking outside is manageable. quiet neighborhood. this was something I was looking for and near to areas of San Diego I wanted to visit (Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, Mission Bay, and downtown). I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, nice common areas, and movie Friday night with people hanging out, although these days people are staring at their phones. It reminds me of the hostel near Mt. Fuji.

Hello, I had a great two day stay and enjoyed the staff and facility very much. It being 1.3 miles from the bus stops was an inconvenience, but you just have to plan for it. The patrons are more mature than the party hostels at Pacific beach. I stayed at one that was great location but is also known as a party hostel, which proved to be true.

The house is very nice, very clean and the vibe and atmosphere are great! The location is good if you have a car, if not, it is not the ideal which is a pity because the hostel is super nice. Staff was not really friendly, but the guests are haha! If you like outdoors activities they have gear they lend you for free like kayaks which is great! Would definitively stay there again.
