We create a relaxed, safe, homestyle atmosphere for travelers of all ages and are just a few short blocks to the treasures of downtown.

While staying at Hostel Obispo, you can explore tidepools at Montana de Oro , birdwatch at Morro Bay, rent kayaks at Shell Beach, hike the many hills and canyons surrounding the hostel, go surfing at one of the four beaches in the county, or bike along the coastline. An outdoor lover's paradise!

Great spot for some rest and relaxation. Visited with a friend and we were able to enjoy the easy going lifestyle that a good hostel provides. It was fun, it was comfortable and the staff did a great job of letting me feel at home. My favorite part of the trip was a chance to share with the hostel staff our dinner of pan seared Sashito Peppers with goat Gouda and prosciutto and oven roasted acorn squash after a day of wine drinking and enjoying the beach. Thank you Hostel Obispo!

Very cool old Victorian style home converted to a hostel, very laid back vibe and almost like staying at grandmas house, DIY sourdough pancakes in the morning is awesome, great location as well

Centrally located, very clean rooms and friendly staff. Free sourdough pancake breakfasts. Not your typical young hipster crowd - at least the 2 days we were there. Kitchen has all the amenities, but community couch could stand to be replaced - only "negative". Within easy and safe walk to downtown.

Comfortable experience in a historic house about 10 minutes walk to downtown and 5 minute walk to train station. The neighborhood and hostel are quiet, and the atmosphere lends itself to good conversations with other travelers. Since it was raining all day, I found it inconvenient that you cannot be in the hostel from 11am-4:30pm every day. That really takes away from the experience of such a cool hostel.

The hostel is super close to the train station so very handy. Would have been cool if it opened before 4:30 pm so I could have dropped my bags off and go wander more easily into town. Nice atmosphere, very cosy and welcoming staff.

Very friendly/accommodating staff and homey feel. Dorms are typical of hostel location (i.e. noise at night isn't non-zero). Conveniently located to SLO key sights. Would recommend.

    Fabulous

Relatively basic hostel that could do with some updating to decor and beds (my mattress was somewhat wider than the bed frame so sloped at the edge) however there is comfortable common space available and a really friendly atmosphere supported by the staff on duty. Most people come here to do local hikes or as part of the highway one Californian coastal road trip. San Luis itself has quite a small downtown area. I really enjoyed my stay here due to the friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Good for a quick stay. The bunks were quite squeaky. The bathrooms were single bathrooms with showers. Hostel does have a policy that guests be out of the hostel by 11am until some time in the afternoon. Location was very convenient and I happened to stay on the night of the Farmers Market so it was good timing. Quite easy to find parking on the street.

Lovely little hostel just a stones throw from the Amtrak Station. Handy if travelling up or down the Califonia coast. Quite open and safe with no locked doors (lockers are available). A few minutes walk from a nice little park and shops, and a short bus ride or drive from several beaches. Although only here for one night, i found it enjoyable. Pancakes and coffee available in the morning.
