Best hostel I've stayed in in New Zealand. Clean rooms, comfortable bed, tidy kitchen, wifi is great, personal chargers and privacy curtain. Free 120 min parking across the street if there is availability. 2 minute walk to the grocery store. Friendly staff as well!

Loved my stay at this hostel! Quiet, clean, relaxing, great staff. I really like the privacy curtains on the beds. Next time I'll be sure to grab a top bunk though because I kept bonking my head on the bed above me while I was on the bottom.

Really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Haka Lodge. Good security, especially to get into the hostel in the evening, however we often found our doors wedged open after the cleaners had been in for the laundry. Free tea and coffee which was brill and a VERY VERY clean hostel! Good laundry facilities with iron too, but hours could be extended (2pm onwards). Great location - for a busy city it was nice to be very close but away from the busy streets!

    Very Good

Decent bunk beds - you had a curtain, a plug, shelves, and a large drawer that locked if you had a padlock (if not they rented them there for a few dollars). The only issue was that the room would get pretty smelly as it wasn't that easy to open a window or air it out. I was also a bit concerned about the security of the doors as they did not lock automatically, and quite often the people in my dorm would leave it unlocked. There were decent facilities and they had communal boxes of toiletries.

Nice clean hostel. Not the best social scene for solo travellers. Good for a group.
