Arrived very late, but they set up a lock box for me to enter. Staff was great, they were friendly and help for everything about Halifax. It was a nice change from AirB&B. I now have a place I can stay at with ease in Halifax.

Awesome hostel, the staff make it feel like it's a home and everyones on the same boat. Great team atmosphere, like going out for drinks and Thanksgiving dinner. Kitchen could use a bit more cutlery and plates.

Overall the hostel was okay. What I got what I payed. It was kinda off season so there were not many people. The room was always unlocked even though we are provided a key. It's not negative review for me but just FYI. Locker is given to each guests but not big enough for suitcase or big luggage. If you've got a chance to pick up a bed, choose wooden bunk one not metal bunk. The metal bunk makes noise according to your every movement !

Could have been a little cleaner, doesnt seem like anyone has vaccumed or washed the floors in a while. Staff were nice and bathrooms were clean enough. Didnt use the kitchen but it seemed well equipped. Some steep stairs to the rooms upstaires so the kitchen is not wheelchair accessible. There are rooms and a bathroom on the main floor but not chair friendly overall. Would recommend if travelling on a budget and used to hostels. Location was a bit riugh but didnt feel unsafe. Close to citidel

This hostel is mediocre at best. It's location is pretty good, being walkable to the Harbor and museums. Other than that, there is nothing special about it.

No one made the bed or changed garbage bin or cleaned the floor. Also there was no sanitizer in the room (we need that very much during covid time). The dorm room has no fan or heater, not enough sockets for all beds. Washroom is so small to take a shower. I know I cannot expect more for a cheap hostel but the one in Ottawa where I had stayed in was much cheaper and better. You would get in trouble with dirty roommates, some left their dirty clothes and smelly socks in bed.
