The staff on the desk were all so lovely and willing to help. The dorm bed pods are wide and comfortable, though you might struggle if you are over 6ft. Each bed has it's own bag locker, light, plugs and a space for bits and bobs. Overall a really great hostel in walking distance of the main attractions and hop on hop off bus stop.

Staff were so kind and helpful to me when my phone got stolen, even going out of their way to take me to the police station after their shift had finished! Great location, central to the Hanoi’s Old Quarter Sizeable lockers with keys for your belongings, however they are positioned next to the bunkbeds, which can be very high up if you’re on the top bunk - I mostly left my backpack on the floor, felt friendly enough and safe to do so. Breakfast could be better, but was fine. Would return !

Hostel was in a great spot, near the old town, Train Street, Hoan Kiem Lake and walkable to the Ho Chi Minh Museum and West Lake. Down a little alley so can be easily missed but nice to be off the street. Only reason it isn't getting a full 10/10 is the hard beds and the fact it was a bit dirty down the sides of mine. Staff were amazing though and had a great stay :)

Halley Hostel is very friendly & welcoming. This is the third time I have stayed at Halley Hostel over my 28 day stay in Vietnam. The helpful staff members in particular being big and small Trang and Duong. I also highly recommend Halley Hostel to organise your tours- they arranged my Halon Bay, NInh Bình Saba & Ha Giang. Thank you Halley Hostel

Beautiful hostel located off the main street. Nice and quiet. The rooftop is really nice and a nice place to chill in the evenings. Super close to basically everything you want to do in Hanoi. Would recommend for those who want to go out and party, but have a nice chill home base.

Nice hostel - dorms with curtains, socket and locker (although my partners locker didn’t open all the way up so it was hard to fit larger items inside). The location is the best! Cozy rooftop terrace. Breakfast is included (coffee, instant noodles, banana, biscuits - OK, but I’d rather go out and eat). Helpful staff, they printed some flight tickets we needed. 24/7 reception and check-in which are great! Would return.

    Very Good

The hostel is very basic. The dorms are okay, beds are comfy and it’s located right in the center of the old quarter. The breakfast on the opposite was not satisfying at all. It’s one pack of instant noodles with chicken which isn’t a good choice for vegetarians. So I ended up having a baby banana and 3 crackers for breakfast which is, compared to other hostels in Hanoi, really bad. Be prepared to get breakfast outside or just stay elsewhere.

    Very Good

Overall, a very good stay! Tracy was extremely helpful at finding tours that were at a good price. The only downside was the breakfast. I’ve stayed at plenty of hostels in Vietnam and this was by far the worst one. You only get bland porridge, noodles, OR bread. I understand that it was free,‘but still the worst continental breakfast I’ve had. But the accommodations are very good with a nice rooftop view and awesome central location.

I understand now why most hostels control the a/c...I was in the 6 bed dorm and people kept getting up all night long to turn it on or off which was beyond annoying. So even tho it was the most comfortable bed I've slept in yet....I got no sleep. Staff were very nice. Don't even bother with the free breakfast. It was dry noodles and bananas. And the bathroom were not very pleasant. It had character and a good location but I wouldn't go back.

Well first of all, a picture can lie. And Halley is the perfect example of that. This was not what we were expecting. The beds was really bad. The bathrooms smelled pee. It was really moist and hot in the dorm. I don’t think air condition was working. The breakfast was horrible, where you could pick between pre-packed food. And you had to clean after your self afterwards. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone.
