I've been to many hostels, but none compare to the feeling I had when staying at Hanjin. Mr. Kwon, the host, makes you feel at home from the very beginning - whether by giving alot of tips about the city, being super cool about everything, having the occasional nightcap from his ginseng soju with all of the guests, and just providing a very home like feeling to each guest. Also, the rooms and clean and cozy, and the price is great. If you're in Gyeongju, you should definitely stay here.

This hostel is a true gem. It’s been running for almost 50 years by Mr Kwon and his father, and you can tell it’s seen so many interesting faces in that time. Yes, the rooms are a bit shabby, but they’re comfortable and clean, and incredibly cheap (Mr Kwon only charges enough to keep the place going). The hostel has the most amazing roof space to chill on, and the whole atmosphere is so relaxed. Mr Kwon, the owner, is quite genuinely one of the most helpful people I have ever met.

Clint Kwon, owner-operater, took care of me in Gyeongju. From riding his bike to fetch me when I first arrived and couldn’t find the hostel, to providing expert advice on where to go and how to get there, to going out to dinner three nights with me and other guests, to doing my laundry in the Hostel’s washing machine for a reasonable price, Clint came through. He was there each of my five days and available to talk.

Great place to stay for a few days. Clint, the owner, is extraordinary welcoming and helpful. The rooms themselves are pretty basic, but the singles have a bed, shower, and bathroom. An electric blanket was included to keep warm (February). 5 min walk to the Intercity bus terminals and bus routes going to bulguksa. Bonus tip: when staying in Gyeongju, head to the Stillroom located on the second floor of a buding right behind Bonghwangdae. The owner Gima and his wife Youngen serve great whisky!

The owner is super friendly and informative and he gave me lots of tips on what to see near by! Only downside was that for two nights I was the only one there!

The owner was very nice and I suppose this hostel did the job, but the environment was miserable. There were things crowding the common areas and there was one bathroom and one shower for the whole place. As far as the room, the bed was a mattress on the floor with a top sheet laid on top, the walls were stained, the lights for the room were in the hallway. Overall, it felt like a drug den.
