It might suit people who only need a place to spend a short night and continue their trips. However, the bedrooms and bathrooms were evidently poorly taken care of. My body was itchy after only one night there.

My problem is with the facilities. It's an old building, which wouldn't be a problem if it were maintained better. Floors are in poor condition, wash closets are in need of maintenance (leaking toilet tanks, constantly running tap, and cleanliness is definitely not up to par, and in that case the staff could probably do better. Otherwise the staff was friendly. I saw a mouse scurrying across the floor in the common area one morning which prompted this review. 2nd worst hostel I've stayed at.

The staff were all friendly and helpful on arrival. However, I was a little disappointed with the state of the place. It looked like there had been a massive party and no one cleaned up: vodka bottles and trash all over the common room and beer cans all over the bathroom. Even further to my dismay, I went to the common room to charge my phone before I left (not all the beds have chargers nearby) and I saw some type of rodent skittering across the room.

I was not expecting much from reading the ratinbgs but I guess I was wrong. Water from the showers were cold and the windows from the sleeping room were not fully closing, in December. I met a mouse. Elevator is dead. Locker from our room was not working and we had to let the door open. Population is kinda weird. The bar itself is not even in the hostel. The bar is really nice though. Staff was also nice.

I walked into the hostel I could tell that they hadn't mop at all, the smell was pretty bad. I checked in at arrival time and I saw the pillow and bedsheets hadn't change yet. Moreover, the hot tap was available at only first floor of male bathroom. The good thing here is the location. Unfortunately, I wouldn't not recommend this place. And finally, the price you pay is what determine how quality the hostel are.

It smells bad throughout. It’s filthy. No idea when the room floors were last swept, never mind mopped. Ceiling had brown stains/flaky paint where there were leaks. The walls had large holes in them. Mattress either old and/or cheap. Feel every spring. Toilets disgusting. No hot water for a shower. Hole in the floor. Missing doors. Front door unlocked at 12am and no one at reception for security. Photos very misleading. Pay an extra few £ and stay anywhere else. Location good though.

So dirty, old building and the key card does not working well. I recommend you to select the other hostel even if you have to pay more.

Smelly women’s toilets that didn’t flush. A door to my room was broken. I felt every bed spring, a piece of wire stuck out in the middle of my bed and scratched me, I had to sleep with a t-shirt folder up over it so I wouldn’t get stabbed. The cleaners that come into the room have bad body odour. I’ve stayed in £8 hostels better than this one. I ended up leaving one day earlier.

This place is hell on earth. It is the dodgiest, most desperate filthy place I have ever been. It is basically skid row. Do not book here by any means. They gave us a refund when we refused to stay but whatever! Sincerely. If you can't afford anywhere else in Manchester DO NOT BOOK HERE. We would have cancelled our trip. Ended up spending way more money than we intended because we had to then get an Airbnb. Seriously. Don't book. The website should take it off their site.

This should be the most dirty place I ever been in my life - booked the place & couldn’t even stay the night there - ended up paying a hotel instead for the night. I wouldn’t recommended anyone this place - it’s absolutely disgusting. Everything wrong. Do yourself a favor & book somewhere else’s.
