From the airport, get the train directly to Manchester Piccadilly Station – 30 minutes in total. Dip into record stores, vintage shops, cafés and pubs in the surrounding streets. Then, take the tram to the iconic Old Trafford football stadium – a 30-minute journey. The Imperial War Museum is 30 minutes away via tram too, for your fix of British history.

We didn't actually stay at Hatters as my son was younger than 18 and not allowed. But they had moved us to a booking at Selina's down the road. It was very new, clean tidy, private and nice

The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy and the location of the hostel is great just of pic gardens so very easy to get around the city and see all the sights and shopping. The toilets and showers are really bad and need an upgrade really soon as everything was just old and tired. Someone had left some bed sheets and rubbish at the stair well and should have been taken away at the end of the day. The lift does not work either so if you cant walk up stairs stay away

The hostel is very poorly managed. The key-card to enter the room stopped working twice. I had to go down to the reception twice. The lift was not working. The shower room in second floor was out of order. So, had to use the one in fourth floor. Also, the water was really cold. The room is not so clean, but still better than the number of things that are to be repaired. The breakfast was super basic and also not properly served. We were looking for clean tea cups and no one was there to inform.

Cold shower water, very noisy, dirty one morning no flush in toilet. I know that it is inexpensive, but needs a good thorough cleaning. It seems to be used by young party goers from out of the centre of town as a means of cheap lodging at week and ends so they can party. The overall atmosphere was good, just needs some thought on cleaning and clients.

No hot water, mice in kitchen, loud area and no earplugs on sale. I get it's a hostel, but these things need to be sorted.

I had no choice but to stay at this hostel in Manchester as this is the only one. I have stayed in worse hostels to be honest, but the reviews prepared me for this hostel. I stayed in the female only dorm and survived The location is was makes it. It’s an extremely old building, toilets and showers are desperate for a renovation. The mattresses and pillows are so old and need to be replaced. Strongly suggest to bring earplugs as it’s loud at night.Okay if your only staying a few nights.

Despite the staff being really nice, this place is a complete tip. Dirty, run down, the elevator doesn't work, the lights in the bathroom don't work, the showers were so disgusting and smelt so terrible that I decided to go without... the list goes on. Do not stay here unless you are desperate!!

This is no-go property. Following things were not running- water, electricity, hot water connection in the shower, which are all basic amenities of an hostel living. The s**t pots were filled with poop and pee with no water to dispose. The staffs were barely seen in the property with whom one could take up the issue. I would highly recommend everyone travelling to Manchester, UK, not to book this property. On the hind sight, this property is located in the heart of the city, that’s all.
