Hlemmur Square was absolutely awesome! The location was amazingly central and right out the front of the bus stop which all tours companies and the airport bus service. The staff were incredibly helpful and the hostel was so clean and fresh. The beds were amazing and the kitchen was great and it was all so reasonably priced for Iceland! Would definetly stay again!!

IT was awesome ! We arrived really late because of our flight and we were very welcomed by Nino, who helped us with our beds. We are a couple and stayed in a 14 bed room with no problem, people were really nice and the shower always clean.

Great location! All of the tour buses have a stop right outside the hostel and it’s less than a 5 min walk into the main heart of the city. The facilities were pretty clean. The staff was super nice and inviting. Would stay here again!

This is a good bet for a hostel stay. Nice bar with free coffee in the mornings where you can plan your day or chill & watch Reykjavik go by.

    Very Good

I was just here for one night on a layover and was glad I didn’t stay any longer. The hostel is super bare bones and feels like a prison. The floors are concrete and not that clean. There were tons of teenagers running around in groups. The dorm room I was in was not sound proof and I could hear everything in the hallway. And the lock on my door kept glitching and I had to scan my card multiple times to get in. However, the staff were great and so kind, and the location and price were ideal.

    Very Good

With 2 bus stops within a 2 minute walk from the front doors, and a fully stocked convenience store right across the street, the location for this hostel is prime. You’re also within walking distance of many shops and restaurants and most of the things one might want to see while in Reykjavík. The beds are also surprisingly comfortable, and I slept exceptionally well for all 3 nights of my stay. However - the kitchen and showers were both pretty gross. Bring shower shoes and your own towel!

Downstairs was nice, uostairs not so much. Security good, needed a key card for upstairs. The bathrooms we ok, but the upstairs common rooms were dirty. The kitchen was nasty. Old food all over the counters, so much leftover food in the fridge. I understand that the hostel cannot control what other guests do, but there should be someone cleaning professionally and it did not appear there was. My socks were BLACK from walking from room to bathroom. Would not stay here again for this reason.
