Group Booking Terms and Conditions

Because you are making a Group Booking, there are additional Terms and Conditions that apply. Please read them and click 'I Accept' below to continue with your booking

General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card 2 weeks prior to arrival. Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

Cancellation / No Show & Reduction in Numbers Policy

If you change your Group Booking

Subject to availability, you may change a group booking to a date up to 6 weeks before your arrival date unless value of your group booking is £600 or lower. All group bookings under the value of £600 will be charged in full any time after booking and are non refundable.
1. Changes requested within 6 weeks of the date of the first night of your stay will be treated as cancellations (see “Cancellations” below).
2. If you wish to change a confirmed reservation (e.g. changes in dates of visit or changes in numbers of people booked) such changes are subject to the availability of a suitable alternative and are subject to any additional costs incurred in making changes to accommodate your request.
3. We will inform you of the amount of any additional cost when you request your changes and shall agree such costs with you.
4. Any additional decreases in Group numbers will be subject to our standard cancellation charges.
5. All changes shall be subject to the availability of a suitable alternative.


All cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge.

1. There is a 25% non-refundable and non-transferable deposit payable at time of booking (apart from deposit paid to HW at the time of the booking)
2. To cancel a Booking you should notify us in Writing. “Writing,” means fax or email.
3. Cancellation charges where less than 42 days’ notice is given are set on the sliding scale below.
4. All cancellation charges are calculated from the day written notification is received by us. These charges are based on how many days before the date of the first night of your stay we receive your cancellation notice. These charges are based on the total cost of your stay *.

i. 41- 29days - 50% of the total cost of your stay

ii. 28-14 days - 75% of the total cost of your stay

iii. 13 days or less - The total cost of your stay

* Total cost of your stay means outstanding balance after non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of 25%

5. If checking out earlier than the stay booked, you will not be entitled to any refunds.

Additional Terms and Conditions

• Home Brighton Hostel defines a group booking as 6+people
• All group bookings under the value of £600 will be charged in full any time after booking and are non refundable.
• Rooms/Dorms are available at 2:00pm on the day of arrival; however you are welcome to drop off any luggage in the morning.
• Check out time is before 10:00 AM on the day of departure.
• All bookings are subject to availability and we reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.
• All groups will be asked for a refundable holding deposit of £250 per group against damages or loss. Deposit is payable by cash or credit card upon arrival.
• There is one designated group leader who must take full responsibility for the group at all times whilst staying at Home Brighton Hostel.
• For youth or student groups (under 20 years old) a group leader must be present and supervising the students in the Hostel at all times.

Additional Info:

All groups must pay a £ 250 deposit on check in to cover damage or smoking fines inside the property.

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

Property Description

We provide stylish backpackers’ accommodation that is centrally located just a short walk from Brighton bus and train stations.

Our vibrant bar and social area is ideal for meeting like-minded travellers. The large kitchen is well equipped with all amenities and a lounge area, which has a ping pong table and a relaxing chill-out space with a big TV and comfy sofas.

Dorm rooms have wooden floors. Each bed has privacy curtains, its own power point and a reading light. Rented lockers are available for security. For more comfort, our private double or twin rooms have a large, comfy double bed, flat screen TV, a laptop safe, towels and complimentary tea and coffee.

Free high speed WiFi is provided throughout the whole building, as well as a great complimentary breakfast, including pancakes. Twenty-four hour access is available to the property with all doors using security swipe cards.

The Richmond bar provides live music every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evening. Our full list of events can be found on our Facebook page. Charlie, the bar cat, gives a warm welcome to guests.

We are close to the seafront, Brighton Pier, nightclubs and bars. A great central location to explore Brighton. We look forward to welcoming you. View House Rules

    Only stayed for one night but was located in a central location, quick and easy walking distance to the shops! The bar area downstairs is quite nice as well if you're wanting a casual drink or dinner.

    The bar is nice and cosy and the staff are friendly and welcoming, but upon arriving at our room, we are greeted by a terrible smell and a sense of disappointment. The bunk beds look as if they are barely being held together and the duvets and pillows are covered in brown stains. The toilets were shocking and we could not find the showers. For approximately £120 for the 4 bed room, I feel like I have been conned. Would not recommend.

    Only good thing about this hostel was the location and the people I met who were living there. I spent 4 nights at this hostel and the sink was full with dirty dishes the whole time, so there wasn’t any clean utensils to cook/eat with. rubbish bins were over flowing, the room I was in stunk of smelly shoes, no breakfast even though free breakfast is advertised and the lady at reception also said there is breakfast at 9am when I checked in

    The hostel felt very unclean. The bed sheets, pillow cases and covers all had brown stains on them. The beds were uncomfortable and rickety. They’re made of thin metal, so when the pub downstairs had music on, they shook uncontrollably. Very loud. The bathroom/shower area was rancid. Had baby wipe washes for the weekend. The communal area was also filthy and damp, made me feel very on edge. This was the only hostel I could book on such Short notice. Definitely needs an update and a deep clean.

    I’ve stayed in many hostels in my life and I never had a good enough reason to leave a bad review until Now. How can you care so little about your business is beyond my understanding, rooms tragically dirty and smelly, but for real dirty not just a bit of dust here and there I mean toilet paper with blood in the floor dirty, the window didn’t completely close so it was dead cold, the showers were disgusting, hair everywhere and really weird stains. Trash cans absolutely overload. Staff is great!

    The room was super cold, even with the window closed and the room was dusty which brought my family allergic reactions. The three level beds had no room to sit in. Also for some reason only some beds had a lamp. We rented towels but they turned out to be unusable. Drying yourself with one would just make you covered in lint. And the showers had a window that didn't close. Lamps' motion censor for toilet across room 4 allowed only 2 minutes of light in the toilet, good luck with that.

    I got bed bugs!! The facility was very unclean and there were cats in the lockers. I was not happy with this hostel to begin with, but to wake up with bed bugs was another level. I’ve stayed at many hostels and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had.
