Richard is the most genuine and welcoming receptionist. We had a great stay in this hostel. The bar downstairs is one of the best in the area and where locals go. Kitchen is clean and so their room plus the toilet/bathroom is huge. Only 2 stops from Free tram zone. Highly recommended!

Bit of an old building but the washrooms were fantastic and we were short walking distance to multiple trams.

New caretakers are all so friendly. Hostel is a very chilled, straight up easy going place. Great location, walking distance to everything. Would definetly stay again.

Great place if you work close to the CBD but don’t want to be in the hustle and bustle. It’s a bit of an old place, and there’s not much room to store your stuff. Also not much in the way of open common space besides two small tv spots(couches are a bit... smelly). But everyone including staff are nice and very chill. Cool to have a bar connected as well. Not bad for the price.

Great location near Melbourne CBD, but facilities are a bit lacking & rooms near the street make it hard to sleep a little bit. But overall good experience!

My stay was good... facility had all that I needed, and the more private bathrooms on the first floor were nice. One complaint I had was with the staff... most were great, willing to help and answer questions about local sites... others (one particular) told me “you can look online” when I asked a question. WOW. Really? Did you think that I didn’t know that? One of the selling points of hostels is to be able to talk to locals... of COURSE we can look online... but asking locals should be better.

Decent hostel but not great. Didn't love the general layout/common areas. Hard to make friends for that was quite cramped as well- barely space for me to get in and out of my bag being on the top bunk, and nowhere safe to keep my bag- it was just out in the open the whole time because lockers are basically only big enough for toiletries. I wouldn't stay here again.

No idea how the rating for this place is so high. The kitchen was tiny, one stove considering how many rooms there are. The common areas - one long table in the kitchen to eat food, sit about 8 people maybe on there. The tv area is a cramped corner by the stairs with enough room for 5 people. Stayed in a 7 person room and it was gross. Bedding didn’t feel clean and the floorboards creaked so badly. Hardly any sockets either. The bar/cafe next door is the highlight. Wouldn’t stay here ever again
