Great hostel with helpful staff. Flexible and understanding during COVID19 crisis. Comfortable rooms, peaceful.

We loved our stay at Hospedaje Costanera with Teresa and her family. We even extended our stay. Some rooms are better than others (in terms of location to shared spaces), but we got a room quiet and away from the kitchen and living room. It feels like you are staying in a family home. It is quiet and cozy and just nice. If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay and relax this is for you. Also, its walking distance to things in town.

The hostel seemed well kept and the staff was helpful. The atmosphere felt much like a home with plenty of lounging spaces and a spacious kitchen, it is a little on the quieter side. The only complaint was the location, it is just farther from the downtown area and the port. Besides having to walk a little further, I would still recommend it to others.

Difficult to rate this place as we spent one single night there. It is not so close to the city center and we didn't feel there was a very interesting atmosphere in the hostel. When we arrived (we are a couple) with a single bed booked, the staff didn't accept that we should sleep in a single bed, so we had to pay for another bed. However, as the place must have been underbooked, they made one entire room available only for us. Overall a decent place for transit travellers like us.

Family runs the hostel out of their house. The beds are comfortable and the family is kind. Not much atmosphere, the family cooks in the kitchen regularly so it can get a bit crowded. Good option if you are looking for a quiet place to stay. They could update some of their info, signs said they accepted USD & Euros but that wasn't the case. Be prepared to pay in chilean pesos.

This place suited my needs for my 1-night stay in Punta Arenas. As a solo female traveler in my mid-20s, I did feel out of place here since everyone else was a middle aged Chilean male and did not seem to be a traveler. Could be because of the lower level of international travel right now with the ongoing pandemic. The staff was nice. Getting in was a little confusing (no one answered the doorbell) but I'm sure things were lost in communication since I had trouble with Chilean Spanish.

Hostel worth the price : nothing flashy or special. The owner is somewhat nice. Bed was comfortablre, but rooms are small, few bathrooms, busy kitchen that can be hard to use, no key to enter, always have to ring the bell, nowhere to lock your stuff. Also is farther outside center of town, but still walkable. Would still recommend for the price, but dont expect anything fancy. Wifi is also iffy.

My ferry was 24 hours late due to bad weather. When I finally arrived the hostel was closed. I was stuck there at 2:30 in the morning in the rain, tired and sleepy after a 54 hour hour ferry ride. Despite my email notification, nobody was waiting for me. Not too happy about this.
