Cute hostel halfway up to casa loma. Worth staying here a night just to take a break from the stairs!! Really lovely staff who were happy to help with good WiFi - difficult to find in Minca

Lovely little spot in the mountains. We enjoyed our stay here and found it to be very clean, good value for money & great location to explore. The owners are most welcoming & I loved reading their love story! Best of luck with the renovations 😊

    Very Good

This hostel is very remote and calm. Definitely a nice time to relax while in Minca. Heads up that the hosts/owners are very private, which is different from a lot of other hostels. They do have hammocks but the large hammock pictured on their page is only at Casa Elemento — if that’s something you were looking at. They do have animals, but they were all extremely friendly .. although I did wake up to feces (of some sort, that I stepped on) in the morning. Luckily I only stayed for one night...

    Very Good

It was a great hostel located 3 minutes to the centre/church in Minca. The manager was very nice and they are still working on the hostel, building a bar and improving things. It is in the mountains so expect bugs around the common area but our room was clean and the hostel was quiet. I enjoyed my stay here.

The room we booked was listed as private with en-suite. It was not. Bathroom was shared with four others. The staff said there were no ensuite rooms but refused to accept any responsibility. Reception was most uninterested. This is possibly a deceitful practice, misrepresenting the room being offered. It looked nothing like the photo. Also the bed base was broken, and the room was not clean with dirt and a dead cockroach in corner.

The good thing was the kitchen and the WiFi if it was turned on, but that was it. Very weird atmosphere. There were no lockers as advertised, the bedding absolutely stank, the outdoor bathroom had walls constructed so that people could see you showering! When the reception staff WERE occasionaly available they were volunteers that weren’t properly trained and couldn’t answer anything - not their fault. Lots of better alternatives to this place in Minca!

the owner is never there, they have nests of poisonous spiders in two of their rooms, a girl ended up sleeping with other guests who offered to stay on the floor of her room to avoid spiders. The employees and owner do not care. In my case it seems completely unfair that they charged me for the stay, being one of the people affected. One if the employees told is that it was “normal” to have poisionous spiders in the rooms because is a rainforest but of course not, I mean what the hell?
