I ended up staying 3 nights instead of one. The family that runs it are super amable and hilarious. I don't know anyone who can shake their as good as the owner. Would come back just to hang out with them. And they have different breakfast everyday! (so exciting) Mompox is btw also amazing.

The hostel's a bit far from the centre, but it's more than worth it for the good vibes and beautiful family that run it, and especially Juan. At the Casa del Viajero you really feel at home, and you look forward to coming back to rest up, make new friends and share a good meal or drink around the table. I only have good things to say about this place! Also, if you speak Spanish and want to know about Colombian politics, be sure to chat with Juan. Stimulating exchanges guaranteed! ;)

The dorm room is comfortable and the air conditioning was a life saver. There were always people hanging out in the common areas so it was great to meet other travelers. The shower was spacious with good water pressure. There was construction happening while I was there but the improvements will be great. The food was delicious and they provided water as well free of cost. The owners are wild and funny and friendly and gay friendly and make sure everyone is taken care of and has a great time.

Excellent hostel in a quirky town. Bed was comfy (though very squeaky) and room was clean. Best shower I've used in Colombia so far although pressure does drop at certain times. Staff were excellent despite language barrier, Juan even took me to the bus terminal free of charge and helped me get the right ticket. Only improvement i can think of would be a simple sink in the toilet, or even just some hand sanitizer as you have to go outside before you can wash your hands.

The staff make this place, they are just so friendly and helpful. The location is interesting - the hostel is a bit of a walk from the historic centre (especially in the heat of Mompox), but is nicely located for walks out of town and into the countryside, which I really enjoyed.

    Very Good

The hostel charged my credit card twice before I even got there. Fortunately I caught it and was able to get a refund, although I had to wait until the 2nd day to get it. Also, a French couple warned me when I got there that one of the front desk guys was hitting people up for money. Bed was fine. Shower and toilet ensuite but sink is outside. Air con was a godsend! Wi-Fi kept cutting out.

We stayed in the private room at the rear of the hostel which was very basic (with a corrugated iron ceiling) and had no mosquito net despite the swarms around. We had to request our key twice before receiving it and the family of the staff constantly had screaming children in the communal area, so it wasn't the best place to relax
