Great hostel! Clean rooms, friendly staff, and great location. For a female traveling alone, it was a great spot to be so close to the main square (10-15min walk) yet far enough away that you weren't worried about noise/people around. At night, the way home was well lit by street lights, so I always felt safe. Simple, easy, pleasant and great facilities. An ideal hostel experience!

We enjoyed our stay at La Cochinilla; they let us check in earlier, hang out after check out and use the nice roof terrace and kitchen. Our double room was spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable. The hostel is more like a hotel, not much going on which was perfect for us but if you’re looking to meet new people it’s probably not the right choice. 5 min walk to ADO bus station and a short walk to nice bars and restaurants. We’d stay again!

A good hostel with good security and very clean. The staff went out of there way to help me, even though there was a language barrier. Not a great deal of atmosphere - definitely not a party hostel.

Really enjoyed the clean, quiet and cleanliness of this hostel. Private, comfortable beds, and a great breakfast. A great value for the money. I had the room to myself for 2 nights.

It's a very a nice and clean hostel with comfy beds. I always prefer hostels with curtains on the beds which this one has. The lockers are big so I got both of my backpack in. The breakfast is good with pancakes fruits and toast. It's just 5 minutes from the bus terminal which is easy to walk. To the city center it's a 5 to 10 min walk, so no need for a taxi or Uber. The room situation was a bit strange, there was another dorm attached so people had to work through the first room.

The staff were pleasant and extremely helpful. Also, there was a decent breakfast and the dorm was well organised with mos beds having curtains and everyone having their own personal locker. Having one bathroom and shower per dorm was a little spartan. Finally, guests staying in a inner room came into our dorm in the middle of the night and woke everyone up and spoke loudly. This was unfortunate, although it was not at all the fault of the hostel.

Suuuper empty when I was there so nice to relax and recharge but definitely not social. Very clean and really comfy beds. Nice breakfast. Didn’t really feel safe walking around the area at night as a girl by myself.

    Very Good

    09 Nov 2019
We enjoyed our stay in Oaxaca and this hostel is mostly a good choice. The lady on check-in on our first day was really helpful, and we also booked a tour with them to the petrified waterfalls that was quite good. WiFi reached the rooms and we had a hot shower 3/4 days we were there. However my husband had the bunk in the middle of the room which is the only one without curtains so wasn't very private.

Very small quiet hostel. Nice little roof terrace but very little atmosphere at all. Out of the way from the main town a bit too.
