Overview

Downtown Hostal Miralva is a great base for exploring the Spanish capital. Set in a typical townhouse, our hostel is cosy, clean and quiet, not to mention ideal for when you're travelling on a budget but still want to be central. There's free Wi-Fi too, so sharing your holiday snaps with friends and family is easy. Take our elevator right up to your room and stash your backpack in your security locker before setting out to see Madrid!

Location

We're 20 minutes by foot from the Museo Nacional del Prado (for famous art) and nine from Puerta del Sol (the main square), putting Madrid's main attractions right on your doorstep. LGBT-friendly Chueca Square is also just a 6-minute stroll away, where you'll find bustling street cafés and boutiques. To get here from Barajas Airport, take Metro Line 8 and change at Nuevos Ministerios to Line 10 (towards Aluche). Change at Tribunal station to Line 1 and stay on until you reach Gran Via station, a 5-minute walk from us. The whole trip takes less than 40 minutes.

Rooms and Dorms

Pick from mixed dorms, single rooms or double rooms with traditional Spanish décor. Some have private bathrooms, and all come with a washbasin so you can freshen up whenever you choose. All rooms have cable TV for chilled nights in and hairdryers to get you looking your best when you'd rather a night out. You can hire a towel if you've left yours behind and stay snug with central heating.

Extras and activities

Ask at our reception about the best things to do in the city – we'll happily keep your belongings in our luggage storage while you pack in a few more sights. Heat up a quick breakfast or end the night with a snack using our handy microwave. If you've had a typically Spanish late night, you can rest easy even if you're leaving the next day with our late checkout times.

Secure, clean, and well located. The dorms are a bit cramped, though.

Simple, normal place. Private bathrooms were nice. Location is great. Extremely cheap. Only issue was no lockers for your luggage (had to leave it under bed). Usually no one is stealing your stuff in hostels since we are all in the same boat, but still a little nerve wracking leaving my stuff out with people I just met. Besides that, phenomenal stay there.

Bare essentials hostel but nice and quiet place for a good nights rest. Loved that there weren’t bunk beds but actual beds in the room. Just missed lockers and needed an extra bathroom or two.

what a great location- right in a trendy neighbourhood of Madrid with access to train stations 5 minutes away. puerta del sol is a 15 minute walk! the internet doesn’t reach the rooms which sucks because the common area has uncomfortable seating. pretty clean place but the beds are uncomfortable and squeak so loudly. you can hear everything during the night- my room was facing an indoor courtyard and would hear people chatting and music. the plumbing of the showers woke you up during the night.

I could set check-in time at 6:00 but actually, I couldn't check in until noon. But I could have the staff keep my luggage and look around the city. There was no security locker. Location is perfect. You can easily walk around the city center. There are some metro station very near this hostel so you won't have difficulty if you have heavy luggage. The room and the bathroom were not so spotless. Acceptable. The shower room was big enough, but you.

Nothing spectacular. There's no common room and only 3 bathrooms which is weird. No spot to meet anyone or talk. There's only a microwave and no sink or anything. Staff were friendly but spoke limited English. Entrance is really nice and then the inside probably hasn't changed in a long time. Not a horrific place I would still stay again as it was the cheapest hostel we could find. Location was pretty decent you'll be within walking distance of everything you wanna see.

Very poor customer service. They didn’t want to give us the WiFi password until our check in. They were in a rush for us to leave and come back when the check in was possible. They told us we could use the bathroom for just 5 mins. They were rude in several aspects. Not worth it. Look for another place
