Was super cheap and even though you had to pay for breakfast it was still cheaper than other hostels. A good location but mostly a good atmosphere.

Great staff, good location. Kitchen and shared washrooms needed more attention. Nice to have laundrymat across the street.

Stayed in the bamboo dorm which was a cool room and a change from the standard bunk beds. Staff spoke little English and could be cleaner- found many hair balls in my bed, room and shower! It was pretty dead maybe due to low season. Overall you get what you pay for.

The staff at Yakumama were great, but the place was dirty, dirty, dirty. The hot water was tempermental and did not always work. The beds were very comfy.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Too much noise at night, bathroom needs better and more regular cleaning.

Depending on what you're looking for, this could be a fine place. If you are just looking for a place to crash, this will work for you. The rooms are fine, but the shared bathrooms were dirty. The staff was less than friendly and did not go out of their way to make us feel comfortable, even after our reservation was lost. The location is great and the included breakfast (banana, bread, coffee, and juice) is good. There was wifi in the common spaces, but it didn't work in our room.

Comfortable beds, warmish showers. The biggest downfall was the rudeness of the staff who made you feel like a massive inconvenience rather than a guest. The hostel has so much potential if they put in a bit more effort.

it's cheap, but maybe to cheap (at least for us when you expect a bit more). staff was ok, but not as friendly as the impression we got for lonely planet. Rooms are huge but depressingly empty. Toilets were not exactly clean, hot water takes ages (we doubt if there is any in the showers), breakfast was very meager. The hotel opposite of yanumama was only 13 dollar more expensive, but immensely better, definitely worth the extra 13 dollars.

The place is filthy; grey towels, blood on matress, dirty common areas, noisy drinkers/ smokers, very unpleasant staff. We checked out prematurely. Horrible experience. How anyone can rate this place positively is incomprehensible.

Posssibly the worst hostel I've stayed in throughout Latin America. The staff were always highly and didn't want to pay attention to you.several things went missing during my stay, including organ all objects and another people's items hat ended up in an unresolved police visit. The facilities were below than average - the bathrobes rarely flushed, there was no soap, no toilet paper. The garden was a mess as was the rest of the hostel. J hated my stay here and could not wait to leave.
