Small and friendly, Hostel 20 Bordeaux is set in an 18th-century building – you can see the original beams in our cosy common room. Pull up a seat on our outdoor terrace and get our French breakfast of croissants, bread and jam for just 2 euros. There's also a small kitchen with a fridge and a microwave if you want to prep your own snacks. On warm evenings, a glass of cold white wine from our bar usually goes down well. Laid-back night ahead? Get your friends together over a meal in our restaurant.

Our hostel is handily located in Bordeaux city centre. Check out the collection at CAPC (Centre of Contemporary Visual Arts), an 11-minute walk away. Of course, a little wine history is a must, too! Luckily Musée du Vin et du Négoce (the Bordeaux Wine and Trade Museum) is just a minute's stroll away. To get here from Bordeaux Airport takes around an hour via Line 1 to Palais de Justice then Line 4 to Picard.

Our private room and dorms with shared bathrooms include free sheets and a towel, so no need to stuff those in your rucksack. Heading out? Keep your possessions safe in the security locker. This has probably been the best hostel I’ve stayed at while traveling throughout Europe! The staff is one of the friendliest and most helpful and the place was so cute too! On Fridays they have this social event and invite other tourists to join and it was so friendly and inviting. If I ever come back to Bordeaux again I’ll definitely be staying here.

Very friendly staff and clean location. Travellers not too rowdy and the atmosphere was calm. I would, however, suggest that wifi be improved. The connection was not strong throughout the building.

Nice relaxed atmosphere. Food was generally good value for money. Need to give a shout out to Caitlyn the Aussie staff member for entertaining everyone with her rendition of 'I see fire' on the guitar. Just don't ask her about koalas, her expert knowledge will make you see the cute little furry fellas in a whole new light...

Je me suis bien amusée à Hostel 20! Un très bon emplacement avec un Carrefour City, des bars et la fleuve juste à côté. Une ambiance fantastique et j’ai beaucoup aimé l’organisation d’un dîner avec d’autres invités chaque soir. J’y resterais encore, merci!

Everything good. -good comunal dinner -good bike rental -good breakfast -nice staff (kudos to the guy at reception during day) The only thing bad: -cranky bed -Not many ppl due to the fact that it low season One of the guys at the reception at night didn´ ´´t know what was a free tour (?!). That was a bit akward. Although a bit pricy for a hostel (only two in the city), it´s the best hostel in Bordeaux

    Very Good

Bad hostel for young people. Half the guests are old, the vibe is very sleepy, not a fun place per se. Facilities are nice but the rooms are loud af (squeaky beds, loud key card beep), making sleeping difficult. Staff is nice and accommodating, but somewhat unorganized.

Nice, but the food, snacks and meals are a bit pricy for the portion sizes, especially dinner. The shower head had to be held at all times, there is no slot overhead, which is annoying. On the top floor there is only one toilet and shower, and it’s a bit odd to walk through the entire hostel, past the courtyard outside to get to the other toilets and showers. The room had an air conditioner, but it might as well not have. Very cold at night, and then really stuffy, and windows can’t be opened.
