Overview

Small and friendly, Hostel 20 Bordeaux is set in an 18th-century building – you can see the original beams in our cosy common room. Pull up a seat on our outdoor terrace and get our French breakfast of croissants, bread and jam for just 2 euros. There's also a small kitchen with a fridge and a microwave if you want to prep your own snacks. On warm evenings, a glass of cold white wine from our bar usually goes down well. Laid-back night ahead? Get your friends together over a meal in our restaurant.

Location

Our hostel is handily located in Bordeaux city centre. Check out the collection at CAPC (Centre of Contemporary Visual Arts), an 11-minute walk away. Of course, a little wine history is a must, too! Luckily Musée du Vin et du Négoce (the Bordeaux Wine and Trade Museum) is just a minute's stroll away. To get here from Bordeaux Airport takes around an hour via Line 1 to Palais de Justice then Line 4 to Picard.

Rooms and Dorms

Our private room and dorms with shared bathrooms include free sheets and a towel, so no need to stuff those in your rucksack. Heading out? Keep your possessions safe in the security locker. When you're taking some downtime, use our free Wi-Fi to catch up on the news or update your mates back home. And for updating your travel diary at the end of the day, switch on your handy reading light.

Extras and activities

Grab a free city map to find your way to the Garonne River for buzzing cafés, shops and bars. We have 24-hour security so late nights are fine by us! Fancy a lie-in? We have late check-out available and you can also store your luggage while you pick up last-minute souvenirs – how about a bottle of Bordeaux? If you're not sure which wine to choose, hire a bike from us and cycle the 2 km to Maison du Vin de Bordeaux for a 2-hour wine tasting session.

Super nice hostel with a great staff! It feels very homey and relaxed, so it’s a great place if you’re travelling alone. Cheap breakfast and dinner, and one night the staff planned a picnic next to the river. The only negative is that the locker space is limited, and i couldn’t fit my little suitcase in there. But a super recommendable hostel!

The staff here are really friendly, this hostel offers dinner for 5€ which is ok for the area and breakfast which is a coffee and croissant for 2€. It’s a little far from the main area but plenty of ways to get there quickly. The rooms are nice and spacious (all female room) the only thing is the bathroom can be messy at times and there’s two toilets and two showers per floor.

Great place to stay. Extremely friendly staff that was very excepting of our needs. We booked our check-in for 10 am but the actual check-in wasn't until 2. We were allowed to store our luggage for free and use facilities to get ready for our day. Location was a little ways away from downtown but they offered bike rentals for $3/5 which was nice. Didn't stay for the dinners they offered but it smelled great. Seemed like a lot of the people staying were staying there for more than a few days.

This is a nice hostel, a little expensive in my opinion but it has everything you need. Well located in a lively neighbourhood with good public transport connections. The staff is nice and the rooms are spacious. I would reccomend this place to others!

Good location.Staff were friendly. Had a problem with my laundry so I’d recommend to do it elsewhere! They told me it would take two hours, and as I needed it that evening, for 5 hours later, so I thought this would work. I checked after 2 hours, not ready. Checked after 3 hours, not ready. Checked after 4 hours, not ready. Checked after 5 hours, not ready! I got it the next day and luckily I checked it before leaving as it was missing a few things. I got them back once I told them. Overall ok
