Excellent staff at the front desk and caretaker Victor was always ready to help out with anything. Kind people, the place reminds me of my country Romania, building with high ceilings, located in the heart of historic downtown Mexico City. I would strongly recommend it to everyone. Thank you for your help with my daughter!

If you like quiet and clean living in a perfect location than Hostal Amigo is the place to stay! You can not beat its centralized location within the city. It was very convenient to be picked-up by my tour guides right at the front door of the Amigo. I will definitely stay here again in the future!

Great location!! A nice and quiet hostel (not a party hostel), hot water, friendly service, and the tours will pick-you-up right at the door.

    Very Good

My bed felt like it had been made for the Spanish Inquisition, the showers were hot albeit constantly blocked and the toilets were disgusting. The location was superb and the tours offered were also very good. This hostel is an each way bey and certainly not one for an extended stay.

Hostel Amigo has a few issues. This hostel did its job— if you’re looking for a place to sleep and have plans during the day, like we did, it’s not a huge issue. However, the rooms are extremely dark (no windows) but sleeping at night is difficult because no quiet hours were enforced. There was no way to meet people and our hostelmates were very loud and smoking in the hallways at all hours; as female travelers, it didn’t feel extremely safe. Facilities are lackluster, but staff are friendly!

Met very weird people there. Decided to switch after my first night. Bathrooms are shared across the whole floor (20+ beds)

I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSTEL. The bathrooms were dirty and smelly, the kitchen was never cleaned and all of the equipment was filthy. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, full of strange characters. There were people smoking in corridors and it felt unsafe to walk around on my own. The staff were so helpful - such a shame they were wasted in this hostel. Also you'll see the review rating is higher from the hostel itself? Bizarre don't go here please.

Sadly amongst the worst hostels I’ve stayed at. We only booked here for one night because everywhere else was full for day of the dead. The location is good and staff were helpful and friendly - the bare minimum - but everything else was sub-par: dark and dinghy rooms, creaky bunk beds without steps, a water supply that didn’t work (I could go on)… Given there are so many good options for hostels in CDMX, I would look elsewhere!

I have to say that the staff who worked at Amigo were friendly. However, the description for this hostel on website does not match the actually services that are actually offered. The description says that there is a free continental breakfast but this is not true. There is no breakfast offered at the hostel. The description says that there is a bar but this is not true. The bar is closed at the moment. There is no social atmosphere at Amigo hostel, I didn’t see many other travelers at my t
