I had such a wonderful stay here. Almost as soon as I got there, I knew I was going to extend my stay from 2 nights to 5 and I'm so glad I did. The hostel has a great relaxing environment. I spent one afternoon just lounging in the hammock among the plants on the open deck/roof area. He is an amazing host/owner and makes you feel immediately welcome and at home, gave lots of helpful tips and recommendations, and really created the vibe of the place. And sunrise paddle boarding was pure magic!

Exceptional staff. The owner is such a cool dude, he wants everyone to feel like home and he really succeedes in this. Breakfast is AMAZING. They offer so many different fruits which I have never seen in a hostel. It is a 15min walk from the centre. You can stay longer than 1 day, it seems like theres a bug in the website and they're having trouble fixing it?

This is one of the best hostels we’ve stayed in! We were instantly treated like family and Emir (the manager) is so laid-back and makes for a relaxing environment. The hostel is beautifully decorated and the layout of the kitchen and rooftop hammock patios are perfect for socializing. Delicious fresh fruit available all day long as well as toast for breakfast. The location is in a residential area which makes you feel more like a local and just minutes walk from the lagoon swimming area.

Really nice hostel with awesome staff. Could have been closer to the center, but a 15 min walk was fine for me. The best part was the SUP-tour at sunrise, it’s a must!

The host makes this place. Communal dinners and free breakfast mean that your spenditure is low - the atmosphere is more like a guy having his friends round to stay which is great - good for meeting backpackers because it’s small. Would recommend

    Very Good

Emir is the nucest hostel manager i met, helped me to figure out how to plan my short time un Bacalar and took us to an amazing sunrise SUP trip. Hostel location is a little far from main road, about 20 minutes walk from town square but it was fine for me. Stream in the shower was pretty weak and cold, beside that everything was ok

Basic hostel in Bacalar. It’s pricey for what you get to be honest. Would recommend only one night here as not much to do in Bacalar. 450 pesos for the sunrise paddle board tour. Breakfast included. I think he is trying to build the hostel up slowly so facilities etc aren’t the best but it’s fine for one night.

I feel all the hostel options in Bacalar are very overpriced. At this hostel I liked the breakfast, which was rich in fruits. Also, dormitory was not overcrowded with beds and the upper bed is fixed firmly to the wall so there is no moving of the bed structure. Everything else, average or below average - pretty messy terrace, lots of stuff hanging around waiting to be fixed, internet not working, no possibility to pay with credit card, bicycles (which were the reason I booked) not working.
