Near to main strip and short (~10 min) walk from bus station. House rules are strictly followed (i.e. kitchen closing time), so just make sure you’re aware of them and relevant times. Helpful + friendly staff. No breakfast but good kitchen and nearby supermarket. Great common area upstairs and 5g WIFI within computer room.

Great experience at chumango hostel. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The beds were super comfy and slept well. However, if you sleep downstairs, you can heard everything from above- use earplugs! We rented all our camping gear, although one of the cups was broken and my friends trekking pole kept breaking throughout the trek. However all in all, it was a great hostel and atmosphere :)

Such a great hostel! The staff here are amazing - especially Jorge! He was so helpful with all of our planning for the national park. He really knows his stuff and has such calm vibes that he's just a pleasure to speak to. The hostel is super clean and the staff make such a big effort to keep it nice all during the day. Loved the privacy curtains in the 6 bed dorm - feels so cosy after being out in the cold all day. Would love to stay here again some time!

The staff at this hostel are the best. They were really helpful with everything I needed before doing the O Trek, and even stayed open for extra days after park and most other hostels were closed since I told them I’d be back and needed a bed. Speaking of beds, they have some of the most comfortable hostel beds I’ve ever slept in!! Not the most social vibe when I was there, but was everything I needed to prep for my trek. They also have good rentals and pricing was pretty on par w other places

Short walk from the bus station. Good cooking facilities and comfy sofas to chill but the WiFi was bad here. Good place to have as a base to sleep when going to the national park. Good supermarket nearby too

PROS Big rooms, really comfy beds, staff were extremely friendly and helpful (helped us get a great deal at another hostel when we wanted to extend and they didn’t have space), good location (close to supermarket and bus station). CONS Floors above were very loud if sleeping on ground floor, kitchen not that big.

The toilets were dirty, water flooded everywhere after a shower even if I was being careful. Beds were confortable, kitchen was okay. You can rent equipment for the trek. Good location near the center of the city and near the bus terminal (15 min walk).
