This was at least my fifth stay at Hostel Don Nino. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hostel is clean and well maintained. A lovely public park - Parque El Llano - is directly across the street, and is a delightful place to walk or sit and people-watch. It is in a very safe neighborhood, and is walking distance both to the ADO bus station and to the scenic places to visit in downtown Oaxaca. I shall return.

Very nice in regards to cleanliness, service, etc. I was unfortunate to not be there at a time when the hostel was busy so I missed some social time and the door to my room had trouble opening and closing quietly but it was a very nice time. Much appreciated the rooftop terrace.

Auberge trés propre et bien équipé. Il manque juste un petit espace commun chaleureux pour faire des rencontres mis à part la terrasse. Cela dit, très bonne Auberge qui m'a permis de bien profiter de la fête des morts. Personnel sympathique. Très proche de la gare routière.

The location of the hostel is a bit weird because even though it is close to both the center and the station, there were no lights on the two big streets that separate them (in both sides) from the 2 spots, which made it feel a bit isolated. It was super clean and quiet offering us a good night sleep which we needed a lot. However this is not really a hostel where you will meet people.

This hostel was fine, reasonably quiet when i was there. My only complaint is that despite advertising that they have AC, the staff will refuse to run it for more than three hours at a time, which means that while it is cool in the dorm when you go to sleep, the entire room is awake again and sweating by 3am, which made it difficult to get a good sleep.

    Very Good

This hostel had all the necessary amenities: 24h reception, lockers with rooms, big area of showers & bathrooms and terrace with kitchen to cook if necessary (although not really equipped). However, we were not really lucky. At night, people came back from partying late and they stayed talking at the corridors, which is where the rooms are. They woke us up both nights. All the rest was perfectly correct. Location is really good and the stuff is nice and helpful.

Our two bed room had only one bed and we were charged for an extra one to be brought in during a holiday where there were likely no other available options. Water coolers were empty for a day of our stay which means throwing away more plastic bottles.

This hostel might have been good years ago with all its good ratings. But right now it’s awful. No atmosphere at all, bland beige colourings with rules plastered all over the walls. Morning receptionist only able to point to rules and very unhelpful. Very dark rooms with no natural light as windows face into the building. Toilets are down stairs far away from dorm rooms too. Would not recommend. Plenty of other better options.

Only 1 staff member was helpful, the rest put in zero effort to assist. Free parking is non existent at this location, it is street parking and not guaranteed. Breakfast is horrible and not served until 8 (late for those wanting to do tours). Tours are overpriced, take public transportation instead, quicker and much cheaper (55 pesos Vs 250). A/C is controlled by staff. Kitchen is a mess and dirty. Drinking water ran out (only have 2 bottles for over 70 people) had to wait 5 hours for water...
